  1. One thing in game I did was turn off the Anisotropic Filtering. Pre I8 I was running it at 8x. While trying to figure out what was killing my performance I tried turning it off and the slide show diminished. I think it has to do with a compatibility issue with the NVIDIA 93.71 driver update. When I reverted back to the NVIDIA 84.21 update I would not have the same performance issue with the Anisotropic Filtering.

How is the AGP pipe set in your BIOS? I was running a NVIDIA 6600 and found that opening it up from 128MB to 512MB did wonders. Just make sure that your system is able to handle the larger pipe. I tried setting my AGP pipe to 1GB and it locked up my system at post. I was able to reset the BIOS and get the pipe set.

Pre setting change I would run a frame rate of about 60 - 80 fps. Post change I would run about 110 - 130 fps. I would use the same corner in my base to check my frame rates with my powers off.

Before dinking with your BIOS make sure to write down your settings incase you need to reset.
  2. Well I tried a Hammie raid today and same thing I ran into before the latest patch.

Everything ran fine while in The Hive. After all the fun and games with Hammie I was running 30 fps but once I left the zone my frame rate dropped to 6 fps and stayed there. The only way to fix it was to log out of the game and back again. This time though I tried tp'ing directly to my base rather than going through Eden.
  3. Well after today’s patch, 12.19.06, I was running fine in a mission with a full team. My frame rates were between 15 - 20. As soon as I exited the mission my frame rates dropped to between 5 - 6 fps and stayed there. I tried entering a new mission and then exiting and the frame rates still remained between 5 - 6 fps. I ended up exiting the game and logging back in to get my frame rates back up.

I had a fair mix of AT's on my team.
There were two Ill/Rads, one Granite Tank, one WS (for part of the mission), one PB (for part of the mission), an Emp Defender, two scrappers and myself playing an Elec/Elec blaster. We were fighting Nemesis with lots of bubbles and vengeance fx's going off plus the controllers pets and debuffs.

Earlier I was running solo doing police band missions, with no performance problems in mission or upon exiting the missions.
  4. Well since the last patch that came out 12.12.06 game play has become somewhat smoother but I am still running into some problems.

    1) When leaving The Hive after a raid game play becomes very jerky once I zone from The Hive and the only way to make it better is to log out of the game completely.

    2) On the Infernal Portal mission, as the team neared the portal room, game play came to a near stop forcing me to log out of the game. Then as we were taking down the portal I was mapservered out of the game. The rest of the team was unaffected. Team size was 7 players including myself.

    3) I am still getting lag spikes on my net graph. The problem becomes more pronounced when on a team of more than three players.

    4) Turning my game sounds completely off seems to help with game performance. During today Hammie raid, which had 80+ players in zone, game play was smoother than with the sound turned on.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
This in particular includes random “lag spikes”, where the netgraph has a huge spike that will be either green or sometimes red, and when this happens, 99% of the time everyone on my team suffers from the same lag issue. These lag spikes happen frequently yet sporadically, at least 1-5 of them per hour of game play (both on hero & villain sides of game).

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have been experiencing this also. I tried reducing my particle count to the very minimum and this seems to have helped reduce the length of the spikes when playing solo but, when on a team it is no help at all.
  6. I have noticed that after leaving zones like The Hive after a raid or the Warburg my frame rate would not improve, it would be stuck at around 15 fps, and play would be very jerky.

I would enter my base, which always would improve my frame rate, and there would be no improvement. The rate would be stuck at around 15 fps.

Only after logging out of the game and back in would my frame rates improve.

Typical frame rates for me prior to I8 would be

    (All rates taken while solo)
    Outside 15 - 25 fps
    In Mission 30 - 45 fps
    In base 50 - 60 fps

  7. I don't see why they just don't let the players decide if these buffs are usable or not in PvP?

In PvE I see no reason to give us run at full potential.

In the PvP arena I see two settings.

    1) Base raids and arena combat.

    2) The General PvP zones.

Now the arena allow the player to select to a small extent what powers are allowed. I.e. stealth or if max recovery is allowed. Why can't they do this for the base raids? Why not let the defender decide what rules they are to fight to when the challenge is issued?

For the general PvP leave the kid gloves off. It is wearing thin all the suppressions and nerfs that have come out since PvP has entered this game.

The empowerment stations are only good for refining salvage and the "temp powers" are to weak to use... EVEN IF THEY WERE FREE. Even if it cost nothing.. no prestige... not infamy and certianly not slavage...

    [/ QUOTE ]

IMO it seems they were more worried about how these would be used in PvP. So rather than listen to people complain about how powerful the buffs were, they hit it with a pre-emptive nerf. This is sad because they have the potential to help the PvE side or the game.
  9. I'm wholly unimpressed with how the stations were put into place. There is little or no PvE benefit from them what's so ever.

I would have liked to be able to:

    1) Select when to active the buff. Build in base but active in a mission.

    2) Have each Tier station be an improvement over the lower tiered stations. I.e. tier 1 = small inspiration, tier 2 = med. inspiration and tier 3 = large inspiration.

    3) Have the lengths that each buff last be based on the Tier empowerment station it was built on. I.e. tier 1 = 15min, tier 2 = 30 min, tier 3 = 45min.

I want Increase Run Speed to be as fast as unslotted Speed Boost.

I want the mez resistance to be as strong as Accelerate Metabolism.

I want the perception buff to be as strong as Tactics.

I want each damage resistance buff to be as good as one of the sonic shields.

I want an Endurance Recovery buff as strong as unslotted Stamina.

I can go with this but I still like Super's idea as to when the power is activated.
