Okay I get it, nobody likes this idea. It was just something that occurred to me to address the inflation and availability issues.
What if they removed the Generic io's from the drop tables and replaced them with set io's? This would increase the set io's drop rate, thus increasing supply. -
Quote:If you think about it, you wouldn't be making a profit on the market because no one would buy anything off the market unless they could get it cheaper than from the store. And no one would want to sell anything on the market for less than what the store pays for it. Its a bit circular, but I hope you see what I'm getting at?
I do see what you are getting at, and that is the whole point. For example if you sold all the purples at the store for 300 million, then no one would ever pay over that amount for one. This also address the availability issue-- what if I can't get a certain io on the market because there isn't one of that type listed, and if someone were to pay the 300 million to the store for said unavailable io that would be 300 million inf gone forever, thus reducing inflation.
I'm not saying make the market irrelevant, finding a purple would still earn u a chunk of change if you decide to sell it. The hard part would be the pricing. Priced to low it would make the market irrelevant, priced to high and this wouldn't have the intended effect. As far as selling to the store, the store would pay the same crappy low prices that they have currently. -
I'm not talking about removing the Market. I'm saying leave the Market as is and add a Store that has everything for sell. The price of items in the store would be set so that they would be the "cap" for that item. You could still sell stuff for a profit on the market, but it would make no sense to list anything above the store prices.
-
I'm new here and this may not be the right place to post this (suggestions maybe?), but there seems to me to be a simple fix to the runaway inflation and availability issues.
This may have been brought up before or there may be some obvious reasons why this wouldn't work.
Sell everything at the quartermaster, or blue equivalent. This would allow the Devs to put a cap on prices and remove inf from the game. This npc store/vendor would have to sell everything, or the prices of whatever wasn't sold there would skyrocket.
Okay I'm sure this has been brought up before-- and I'm sure Marketeers will hate this idea (not that I haven't used the Market to line my pockets). So what do you think? -
I think I'll just put that extra slot in Flashfire, probably Acc/Rech from another set.

It's hard to give up my s/l soft cap, but i can see that RI would cover the lack of it. I took a look at the builds and considering your advice I came up with the below build. Thank you for taking the time to help me out.

I have recently returned to the game after a long absence and been playing exclusively red side. I have heard wonderful stories of the cornucopia that is WW and the many wonderful TFs available to Heroes.
So I was thinking of making a controller, and wanted one that could solo and contribute on teams. I have come to the conclusion that a Fire/Rad could do all of that and be fun to play. Please feel free to critique the following build, or even suggest another set.

Thank you for taking time to explain all of this to me, I do play on Feedom but don't know if it's my perm home yet. I'll level a DM/ELA up and just use so's/generics to see how it plays b4 I invest in it.
Thx again, now I have some place to start, and something to aim for. -
I really like the look of that Julius, but I have some questions.
1. I thought Shadow Maul was "not good".
2. Dark Consumption is not worth taking? Will Energize and Power Sink be enough to keep me from having end problems?
3. I'm new so I don't have a lot of inf, and I know some of those are gonna be really expensive (LotG recharge for ex.), how much is this build gonna cost?
Shawn thank u for the link, and the reply. From reading the advice you got, end drain is part of ELA's mitigation? -
Something like this maybe...

So I have no idea what I'm doing, but I wanna build a DM/ElA. I plan on skipping travel power, but still want tough, weave, hasten and stamina.
Eventually plan on going for a def build as I understand ELA is pretty weak, but right now all i'm worried about is power selection. I don't want to skip anything in ELA unless it's a real dog of a power.

I don't remember the exact timing between cu/nge fiasco and the ED. I just remember being really pissed that CoH was following the same route to crapville.
I was tempted at this point to turn on the rant machine and turn loose on the ED, but I'm not. Let's just say I wasn't pleased by the ED and I'm still not.
Thx for the responses, especially the IO 411. -
The first time I played this game I came from SWG after that game was ruined. So when the ED hit I quit without a second thought, even though I was playing with some awesome peeps in my SG.
Long story short I heard about the IO's and now I'm back on trial, and I LOVE this game. I loved it then and I love it now. What I want to know is do IO's bring back the pre ED power/fun?
P.S. I've been playing a fire/dark corr and it feels like everything a defender should have been.
