  1. Indeed. I am denied my multiple account access, once I had several now I struggle with 2 and have allowed one of those to go by the wayside for a bit. I love having access to both accounts, because you can trade safely and such.

But am I entitled to THAT because I've been paying for one? No, just exactly what I pay for - access. *shrug* It's not denying anyone anything. It's rewarding the few who do something special themselves, with a cute trinket as a reminder.

So, explain this to me then:

Why is okay to hand out things like exclusive bumper stickers, T-Shirts, and other items, but not in-game options like badges, costume options, or non-game affecting temp powers?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because NCsoft customers pay a monthly fee for access to COX badges, costumes, and temp-powers. If this was a T-Shirt of the Month club, then customers may be upset at being excluded from an available T-Shirt.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They are paying 15 dollars to play the game. That doesen't, however, mean that they will have access to anything and everything.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Didn't you get the memo? It also includes a strong sense of entitlement to every product that the game spawns... For free.

I just can't even understand why, if it's something that they want to reward those who *show up live*.... The thing isn't giving out a glowing golden aura that says, "this is for everyone who went to X place oh and the people who cried the loudest on the forums". It's a simple toggle goodie as a treat for those who DO spend the time, money and effort to get to the meets. If you don't spend the time, money or effort, why exactly do you deserve something that others DID? They're not FOR everyone, that's why they're "special".
  3. Wrong, my friend, having attended the comic con for 27 years now I can say that your number crunching is *entirely inaccurate*.

The comic con building holds 125 thousand people. That was how many there were *in the building* when it got shut by the fire marshal 2 years ago. Period. They couldn't let anyone inside, because there was *no more room*.

That was the peak capacity, all 4 days this year was 120 thousand *attendees*, not "total appearances over the weekend."

They sell only 4 day passes now, because *people attend all four days* and not just one day like they used to. I'm very sorry but your information is completely and totally off the mark.

    Have you attended San Diego?

This here is a picture from the *preview night* line, which contains enough people to choke a 20 foot wide hall and that line extended far, far beyond this on both sides for 2 hours. I would guess at 80 thousand people being there for Wednesday night's opening.

it's definitely not "30k per day" over time. I'm very sorry. You're wrong.

Every single website I visited had the same number: 125 thousand attendees - that number is NOT broken down per day, that's the number which the convention center HOLDS. Take a look down the list there for attendance records.

It's being held in the largest convention center in North America FOR A REASON.

Dragon con's attendance history, on the other hand, is very meek in comparison.

It's not that they're manipulating numbers. It's that there really, honestly are 120 thousand people *a day* at San Diego. If you'd ever been there, you would know that.

Now, all that said, I don't think it's wrong to ask that NC attend Dragon Con. However, there isn't much crossover in their audience for this game - their others perhaps, but not City of Heroes.
  4. Er, just so you know, the comic con in san diego fills a 120 thousand capacity building for 5 days in a row. 30k for Dragon con is like 20 years ago for the sd con. Sorry.
  5. All NC cards work on all NC products, that's the point of having removed the specific games to them. They're one product. If you apply them to any of the given games, the effects will differ based on what each game needs. (So we get the jet, the other one gets coin, etc.)
  6. I had an awesome time, thanks to the Devs and staff, this party was a hoot It wasn't as big as the NC meet n greet but it was a lot of fun. If I can figure out how to rotate an avi file's output I might get the dancin online somewhere... lol.

Thanks again, NC, you guys rule.
  7. Definitely please make game time cards available this way. That'd be the only way to make the process better.

Here is a question that maybe I missed. If I only go to the con on sunday, I am active military and cannot go any other days, will I still get the in game badge even tho the "special event" is saturday night?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Presumably no, since the event's the night before, and you'd have to have gotten the pass before then to attend.

    MMO ART?

Whether or not you'd like to defend him as a friend of the community, friends don't bail out on thousands of dollars of commissions without so much as a word.

If he's in serious health condition, someone near him can just as well make an effort to tell people about it and pass along information. The last I heard he was getting better every day and happy to take more commissions - even though he'd never finished many more.

I will reiterate: that is unprofessional and just because people might find his art great or his outward personality nice? It doesn't mean that they shouldn't take this to court. It IS theft, it's breaking a legal contract, and if he can't at least say "I'll pay you back" or "I'll finish the commissions in the order they were received" - he's stolen their money plain and simple. One token effort at asking if people want their money back - and to my knowledge (which is limited I will admit) no one got either a piece OR their money - correct me if I'm wrong - is not enough to prove he's worth keeping around as a professional contact.

Real professionals don't pull stunts like this, and yes, it's a stunt. Everyone knows that TA collects art, his collection is *epic*. Would you really think you'd want to be the person who is stuck with the title of "paid but never finished" on that collection?

Doesn't matter if it was a 50 dollar sketch or a 500$ piece, it's a contract to finish, and they really do have a right to ask for payment back or their products as promised in a timley fashion.

Hell if I were Gill I'd turn the money over to other artists and get THEM to honor the contracts if anything. Just to have the pieces done.

    MMO ART?

From someone who's been watching this mess for a while:

If he had any sense - not just business sense - he'd refund everyone's money outright, and start fresh period.

He's known that there are issues about late art for what, 3 years? Three years and he's *still been taking commissions*. That right there is as unprofessional as you can get.

I hope he's healthy, safe and reasonably comfortable, but honestly no one should have to wait this long for anything. I've got a guy I met at the comic con last year I'm still waiting on but hopefully he'll be there again this year and I can browbeat him for it. But this is inexcusable. There is nothing wrong with admitting defeat and saying "I'm sorry".

There's no excuse for not communicating with the people he's at least taken money from, either. There's this thing it's called a "library" and they usually have computers with an internet connection. Friends have them. Businesses have them. There should be exactly nothing stopping them from communicating with those who have been waiting.

But for now, the fault and blame land squarely on an unprofessional attitude that could be changed as easily as a single post in a forum. But it goes way past that - money has been leeched from people for too long, and nothing to show for it.

It shouldn't sour people from purchasing commissions from other more reputable artists, but it should warn folks to stay alert and keep appraised of every single dollar you're spending on these things.
  11. You guys do know that a lot of people *actually fly to the city* to attend this the biggest of all comic conventions, right?

People from around the world come every year. It's the biggest and best of its kind.

Folks who have taken the time and made the effort to come to the con will get the benefits of the event. It's exactly like ingame earnings - just because one character got some thing on their badge list, doesn't mean all characters do. Sorry if you're not going to attend, but it's called "incentive".

I'll be there with bells on.
  12. ewwwwweewewewew! *does the spiderwebdance*

    Kronos x2

On Protector, Badge often arranges "robot rampages" - where we gather as many Kronos, Babbages and Palidins together as we can. Last time, we found the paly's had been ganked or removed somehow, but we still had a rollicking good time with our HVAS and other summoned bots to fight for us.
  19. Of course they do! For a while before my computer almost went belly up I'd be called upon to run lusca whenever the addicts on Protector saw me and lusca were up at the same time...

Grats to you and your group, Khazidhea!
  20. I think the only thing I'd do is give her the Topknot skin hair design instead of that hair. I like it, nice colors.
  21. I'm definitely gonna have to send something We can't have our good kitty go without her favorite Protectors
  22. Oh good, let's see em!

Goodness I love those new options though. But I like them as the final product, instead of as the undergarments.
