Two, Mirror Spirit's information came out what... 6-8 months after the EU release of CoH. So at the time, none of us had a clue who she was and what title she held.

Last night at Ultimate Galaxy Girl:
Miss Ellie, Red and Tigergirl helped an old man who had fractured his ankle in a fall, with Ellie taking him to hospital.
Zorielle and Hannah participated in some mother/daughter time, and chatted to Tigergirl.
A pidgeon nearly hit Jess in the head, after being chased by small children. The pidgeon that is, not Jess. Jess also looked after a forgetful Ellie's suitcase.
Red discovered opening bottles isn't as easy as it seems, splashing water all over himself.

A blackout occured in Galaxy City, reducing a few buildings to emergency power and most to none at all. This triggered Hannah's phobia of power cuts and sent her into a panic attack, which her mother and her gym instructor Yoko tried to help her with. A group of heroes went off to investigate after a shopper mentioned that she had seen clockwork near one of the citys substations. Arriving, they fought off the clockwork and one of the large clockwork princes.

Back at the statue, a group of Freakshow had arrived to do some late night, five finger discount shopping. Head of Mall Security Maxine was alerted and several of the heroes from the substation rushed back, as well as some of the heroes at the statue helping out. Ellie also displayed her lightbulbesque abilities.

At the substation Psyonix and Dark Stone recovered a piece of equipment from an Oscliator trying to get away, and after plugging it back in and hitting the switch, restored power to the city.

The Freaks at the statue were defeated and taken to the hospital and prison, depending on how badly they were beaten, and things began to settle down, with Maxine getting the damage to the mall sorted. Transfer student Mina arrived, along with Sara, and Mina asked questions about heroing to Cassandra. Ellie took a shaken Jess to tea at Up-n-Away, and Hannah gave Yoko the Nintendo DS she had been using to take her mind off the powercut back, before heading home with her mother.

War Walls: Instead of the huge walls with the barriers, along major roads under the surface are shield generators. When an emergency happens, the road splits in half and they become active, sealing off areas from incoming and outgoing people. Unless they fly over the top. Similar to the emergency containment system for outdoor missions.

Hazard Zones: Unlike in CoH, they've actually started rebuilding Boomtown. Eastgate has the War Walls active around the Gulch, with a War Gate for hero access. Woodsvale is outside the city so that's no problem, and considering Venice goes over the river that leads out of IP, no walls there. Construction teams are already in Overbrooke stabilizing the area. Astoria is slightly out of the city, so it's just covered in a dark cloud and fogbank. Same for Croatoa, being on the outside of the city.
Hive built into Woodsvale, Hamidon no longer a big blob but like the Devoured and Terra AV.

Public Transport: Busses, Subways, trams, monorail. Subway tunnels as well.

PCPD/Longbow: PCPD more effective with crimes. Longbow stopgap between PCPD and Heroes, used for Hazard zones, also train up new heroes at Freedom Corps.

No level system: Common sense applies. A longer term hero is in most cases going to be more skilled than a wet behind the ears kid.

Hero Licenses and Minors: Under 18's get provisional heroes licenses, unless a sidekick to a fully licensed hero. Provisional heroes aren't sent on some assignments, and are sent on some in teams where a full hero would go solo.

Hero Licenses and the law: Superhumans without a license are allowed to use their powers in self defence with reasonable force to prevent harm to themselves, and help out in emergencies (Helping an old lady from being mugged, rescuing a kid from falling, et cetra.). They aren't covered to go on missions. Those with licenses are expected to act within the law, using reasonable force. No breaking a running pickpockets legs, for example. Deaths to be avoided if possible, and only to be deliberately taken if there's no other choice.

What is this about?
This is a test run for an RP meet up based on CoH not using the client. The premise is based on the Galaxy Girl Concept on Union, with players bringing in characters with cleaned up backstories and past events, changing things they don't like, or even bringing in new characters. The name is based on Marvel's 'Ultimate' series, where a different continuity with revised characters was made to modernize some characters, clean up backstories, perform large rectons and mean that new readers can start reading without having to get as many back issues.

The meet not only allows players at GG currently to retcon their characters and play without having to sort out the retcon with other players, but let others join in who may be on other servers, allow former players to play and add some advanced text based features and changes not availble in CoH.

All you need is to post a basic character description on this thread, along with any information commonly availble about them.

IC Setting.
On May 23rd, 2002 the Rikti, a race of alien lifeforms from another dimension, invaded the capital cities of the world, with a large force attacking Paragon City, prior infiltration and espionage giving them the information of critical targets to attack. The heroes proved to overcome the estimations of the Rikti, and through a six month campaign the two sides fought a vicious and bloody war until November, when a team of heroes infiltrated the Rikti Homeworld and shut off the portals established underground, providing logistical support and reinforcements to the invading army. With no support from home, the Rikti soon were routed from the battlefield, their aggressive offense giving way to a guerilla-style of defense deep beneath the city's sewer network.

Many heroes lost their life in the war, including Kelly Graham, AKA Galaxy Girl, who even in her declining years took up the battle and, using the last of her powers, gave Ms. Liberty and others the strength and vitality to escape, saving many of the city's inhabitants in the process. As a tribute to the woman who would help them not only against crime, but with simple problems and give out advice, a tall statue was erected behind Freedom Court, to remind the city and inspire new heroes being trained by Freedom Corps.

The relevant safety of the area, being in close proximity to Freedom Court and the large amount of super-powered traffic that visited lead to the area surrounding to become a shopping centre, many of the city, and worlds, famous chains along with indepentant stores, clubs and resturaunts setting up shop. Civilians came for the safety while shopping, and heroes came to visit the Court, and relax in their free time.

In early March, 2005, one of the cities heroines called her fellows to arms and lead a show of force against the Council, a mysterious group who had taken control of the Fifth Column in a coup d'état, on their home turf of Striga Isle. As time passed, heroes soon began to group up by the statue at the time the meeting was called, 9pm, to gain strength in numbers, valueble allies in their battles against the cities villains, and friends and loved ones to support them, who understood the rigors and strife of hero life. Even civilians -whether relatives to the heroes, curious shoppers or herowatching fans- dropped by to chat, draw inspiration in their simpler lives, or simply be able to boast to friends about who they discussed the weather with that night.

OOC Mechanics:
There will be a main OOC channel, and then the IC channels such as the statue. The topic of the IC channels will contain information such as weather and other information. The OOC channel topic will contain the names of public IC rooms for people to enter.

Rules are simple and follow the common sense rules that are currently in place at GG, don't godmod, respect your other players and try to have a nice time. Operators in the channels have the power to kick and ban players on an IP level, though a kickban will be for serious or repeated offences.

Missions that take place will be run by players and utilize a freeform system. Care must be taken not to abuse the level of trust and power that freeform gives.

AoA - Age Of Apocalypse. It was a series showing what happened if Charles Xavier had been killed before his time, and the resulting after effects. Not sure how it'd work for GG though.

616 is the regular Marvel Continuity. Think of that as the continuity at GG at present on Union.

Ultimate is the new Marvel Continuity, cleaning up backstories, modenizing some older characters and meaning that you don't have to read all the hundreds of back issues to read the newest comics and understand.

MUD - Multi User Dungeon, the predecessor to the MMO.

Well, the server itself will be used for both.

The next step is deciding a time for the test session based around when interested parties can be present.

Also, nothing stopping those who want to join in but may have difficulties with keeping two versions of the same character from bringing a new character in.

Currently there's 4 versions of Fusebox and 4 Jessica Kade's in my head. That explains everything about me. @_@

Sadly, this is on indefinate hiatus, the 'Ultimate' GG thing. The main reason for this is due to several of the players who currently play CoH expresing concern at keeping the two different versions seperate, which is understandable. We can't all pull a Z.

But current continuity RP can still take place on IRC if people want to interact with characters whose players have left the game.

I definetly prefer the flawed characters. Hannah when you get to look beneath the surface is a complex little bundle, generous and giving, but her reasons for why go back to her childhood. Plus her powers mean she can't really do the one thing she loves the most, professional gaming (Would you let someone who could interact with computers directly in a Quake competition?), and the double edged sword of while lots of electrical devices make for a very bright time and make her have glasses on all the time, none causes her to have a panic attack.

Zorielle has her fortunes and technology, but has to keep her employees safe, pay them, manage stocks, and her technology she makes needs to be developed, made, researched and tested. Protecting others in the city during the war cost her the ability to have children and her first wife, and she occasionally gets into ethical issues with others.

Juan might be a powerful psychic, but that doesn't help when he had to emasculate himself to stop his emotions and hormones driving his powers out of control, try to work and study hard without his gifts so he can become a psychologist, and put up with Mina/Hiki's woes.

Flaws in a sane ammount make a character fun and interesting to play, I find.
