Looking forward to attending my first Herocon this year, reading this saddened me. I can't justify spending the money to travel cross country just for a dinner. Congrats to those this helps, but yeah, /unsigned.

If the way you intended this game to run is around the the specific time sets you provided, then nothing can be done and I understand that. However, my thought would be to freeze the sign up period as intended, and those that made the sign up run this next sunday at 12n EST with a balanced ruleset. Maybe the toxin takes 1 week and 48 hours to do its dirty deed and gives the "player" time to contemplate their existance...idk.
The disparity widens when the glowies themselves are 2 minutes or so (a guess), and there is ecorting involved. A competent team of 5 can have 4 people clicking glowies and 1 escorting. Thats a severe handicap for a soloist IMO.
My intent isnt to disparage anyone. Like I said, it was a mere oversight. If the "game" cannot be started again next week, so be it.
All in all what I really hope is that people had fun today. I will continue to monitor this thread and payout to the winners accordingly.

Technically, you could run a "do over" next weekend while adjusting the rule to specifically say no teams OR teams allowed. And although you still would not be able to enforce said rule, I HONESTLY believe everyone is honorable in this event. It was a mere oversight and no one is to blame if they didnt know. While I was in it for the fun, not the prizes, I can see how this could definitely irritate some people.
Having 10+ people efforting solo, with no help & coming up empty, then having the 3 people that teamed claimed the top 3 prizes is a little much. But thats just my opinion.
As it stands now there is still a very good prize up for grabs for everyone else who completes the antidote part of this contest. The 200 million offer is per person, not 1 prize. Simply put, if you successfully complete it you will win 200 million guaranteed.
I hope this seems fair enough for those who may have been unknowingly handicapped. -
