I had a Nrg/Nrg blaster that I never managed to get any higher than 35.
I really wanted to get a blaster to 50 so I decided to try again with different sets. I made a AR/Dev and he in now less than 1 bar from 50
Great fun to play & the most fun blaster I have tried. I am even thinking of making another AR after with a different secondary.
I agree that AR is a great ranged set & there is no need to use melee attaks from a secondary set unless in trouble. I find it pointless moving in close to mobs. You can kill a whole mob faster ranged. -

If I remember correctly they made the ships a lot tougher but still defeatable.
I'd be up for joining this, don't have any toons with group flight but have a few with flight.
You will need to be carefull of the char types with group flight as if for example a blaster has group flight holding a team up & he dies the whole team will fall to earth with a crash. -

I always find the best way to look for team was using search, find ppl my level in teams & use the below to send tells
/t $target, Hi, any room on your team for a level $level $archtype?
you can then hit enter & the up arrow then click a different name & send the same message.
That said, I would like to see a better search system where I can see what teams have space & who is leader of a team. -
My main (& 1st ever) char Xtream has always walked the line between good and evil. A cyborg sent back in time to avoid a disaster that ends mankind. He assists both good and evil forces to achieve his goal.
I even have two new alts that are derived from my main.
1) Xtream Malfunction - a MM that was sent back but from an alternate dimension where Lord Recluse rules & XM has decided to try and take over before LR can get to power.
2) Crey Prototype - When Xtream first arrive in Paragon he was captured and experimented on by the Crey. The Crey have tried to apply his advance technology to humans. Crey Prototype was the first experiment to work & was freed from a Crey lab by Statesman. -
That was a great badge night.
I managed to get the Banisher badge on two chars & got over half way on a third char.
I also got all the invasion badges on Xtream before we started, so i'm happy

I'm playing a AR/Dev Blaster too atm, I'm level 44 & have changed my build a bit while leveling, I finally decided on the below build. It relies mainly on attacking powers and knockback, I don't have much from the devices set but what was essential. I also have Personal Force Field for when I'm about to die. Saved me a few times! I'm not sure if I'll keep Repulsion Field as last power,I might swap that to Caltrops instead.
