Congrats! That's awesome.

Not sure who that was pointed to, or if it was in the wrong topic =X

Lol that I did spell it wrong, did this build just now with literally no sleep so I'm surprised I even got to finishing it honestly. Good thing I spelled it right in game
Was kinda thrown off on Grounded, read some posts where it was said to be meh because you had to be on/near the ground for it to be active. That was the main reason I took it out, figured I could try and fit a Steadfast in there somewhere at one point. But I will see what I can about fitting it in there, slotted or just a place to put a Steadfast? Thanks for clearing that up .
Regarding Powersink, what would you prefer I put in there, or is the slotting fine just use it as an attack? Open to all kinds of suggestions being this is my first personal build.
Thanks for the feedback -
I'll def have a look at DM/Invul, gonna put down the BS/Elec for a few days and work on yet another alt heh. Found the DM/Invul thread as well with some builds inside so that will def help out.
Thanks for the suggestions!
Also, was messing around with building a set for my BS/Elec Brute, still new to this kind of thing but was wanting some critique if possible. Trying to keep away from Purple sets, they looks expensive D:
38.7% S/L (Know 45% is softcap, dunno where I can fix this)
180% Regen
163% Recov
75% Rech

That or Invuln is what I plan to work on next. I heard Stone/WP was awesome on a Brute because of all the knockdowns?
-
I must say I am really enjoying BS/Elec right now, got him up to 22 tonight before I logged off and he is one powerful beast, albeit he is eating endurance like mad. I'm still sketchy on creating builds so I need a little bit of help with this guy for leveling and post 50 build if at all possible. I know I pretty much just have to worry about getting my S/L def high enough to where it will softcap using Parry and or a purple insp.
Don't mind what travel power I am using, the theme for this guy (Tech suit powered by electricity with sword also powered by suit) can pretty much go with anything. Don't have the money for a purple/hammi-o build right now, but from using Parry to softcap that shouldn't be a problem I would think.
So more or less a build that suits a team (tank & damage) and solo play. Would appreciate any help! -
Well that blows , at least that narrows down my choices a bit though. Leaning more toward Kat/Elec for almost unlimited endurance in larger groups. Never was a fan of my melee running out of end and losing toggles at higher levels.
@mauk2
I will def look for your build and work on it when I get home, thinking about it more, I would like to dust off that relic and see him melt face off again . -
Well I want to be able to tank be it with strong regen or high def/res, as well as be able to solo and team well damage wise. Inv has always been something I wanted to try, Dark Melee just seems slow to me for some reason, AoE isn't the main thing I look at even though it sounds like it.
I might dust off my fire/fire for later but want to build something from the ground up. He is slotted in Hammie-O's from waaaayyy back in the day, like around Issue 4-5 when I stopped playing him because of Burn and AoE aggro nerfs. I wouldn't know where to start with him now honestly, but that's something for another day.
Right now I'm looking at Kat-DB/Elec Brute and DM-Kat/Invuln Brute for my next build. Could work the same for tanks, I just like Fury -
I don't mind trying Energy Armor other than it has crap for res from what I am reading, which isn't too promising imo. And I don't have the credits yet to get StJ or I would give it a try. It looks like fun, other than the fact that the AoE seems to be pretty bad, which I am almost always trying to jump into big groups of mobs. Not necessarily farming purposes, I do that on the side.

Electric Armor is starting to sound more interesting now, hate dealing with Sappers at higher levels. EA is at the top of my lists for a secondary, how are Katana and Dual Blades, same as the rest of the sword sets? I know Katana was pretty OP back in the day, haven't messed with DB.
Yea SS has been OP since day one heh, that is still def at the top of my lists just needing something new. Swords(?)/EA sounds like a very interesting combo, thanks for the suggestions so far! -
Haven't read much about Electric Armor, I know it is invuln to end drain though isn't it? WP looked interesting, how is the regen compared to the Regeneration set, and does it have avg res against all dmg types including psi? I thought Invuln was still bad compared to Stone, ofc it was when I used to play. How is it now compared to Stone and other sets? I don't see Stone armor talked about at all anymore, I remember it being godlike if built right.
As far as damage goes I'm still seeing SS taking the top spot, with Dark Melee behind it which is weird. How are the others nowadays, I notice a lot of the primaries for Brutes come from Scrapper set?
Sorry for all the questions, just don't wanna make a gimped setup from my horrible knowledge of CoH nowadays. -
Looking for something new to try out since I've come back to the game again. Haven't played since around Issue 18, before that I played until Issue 10 from launch. Looking for something that can take damage, be it shields or heavy regen, and something that can deal it as well.
I'm playing with a few friends right now that are on free accounts, a DP/Kin Corr and a Emp/Dark Def. I was the guy taking the damage for us when we played way back before CoV, so guess I'm doin it again. Just looking for some suggestions, want to try something new that I haven't used and abused so far.
Here is what I have:
50 Fire/Fire Tank (Issue 1-4 farmer)
50 Rock/SS Tank
50 Spines/Regen Scrapper (Issue 4-6 PvP)
50 Elec/Shield Scrapper (AT Farmer)
50 SS/Fire Brute (AT Farmer)
I don't mind using one of the powersets above, but would like to use something else with it that isn't there. Since I'm kind of new to some of the newer sets still I have no idea how good they are. Money for builds isn't really an issue since I can farm on the side, although Hammies/Purples might be out of the question for a while. Thanks in advance! -
Bumping this up, would really love some help on this issue.

I have been playing this game off and on since beta and have never encountered this problem before on older computers. When Freedom launched I decided to play the game again, now with a beefed up system, but I started to have some issues.
Lately when I enter a new zone it seems my fps is cut nearly in half and stays that way until I zone into somewhere else. This happens in missions and in outside zones, graphics are all on ultra as I know my computer can handle it. I have messed around with a few settings that might cause it like shadows (used to be main culprit) and render distance but nothing is helping.
As for my system I am running an i7 2600k @ 5.1GHz, 12Gb of RAM, and 3 580 GTX's. My drivers are up to date, I am currently using the latest beta drivers from NVidia so I could play BF3 to it's fullest. No reason to think anything is wrong with my computer since I can run BF3 with everything maxed and it runs like butter. My old computer ran the game fine, albeit last time I played this with that system was earlier this year without the revised Atlas Park.
Any help is appreciated, thanks! -
Quote:lol everyone had fun though, even if it was a lil messy. Been enjoying the SG ever since I got in.
Isaac wants to start up a Sister. Isaac joined our SG last week after reading this thread. New toon, now high enough to do Sister Psyche, and apparently you can form one after 10 PM in our SG. ^_^ -
Wow, thanks for the advice guys, this really helped in my chosing what to make.
I had always like the way Rad worked, just never got one high enough level to have fun with it. I had also forgot that you couldn't buff the Illusions pets, so that would of been a mess if I had chosen a buffer.
I was more or less looking for a Controller to take on Task Forces, AV Teams, Missions and the sort. I already have 3 toons that can farm so I'm done making farming toons. Sounds like Ill/Rad will be my next project . -
So I just IO'd out my first 50 since I started playin again (5 year break), which was my newly made farmer (Elec/SD Scrapper). My problem is I have 4 50's that are all up in your face melee types. I was looking into getting into the field of Controllers minus the ones I do have (Grav/Kin, Elec/Storm (Which are both kinda boring)), and I had always wanted to try out Illusion.
My problem is I don't know what Secondary I should try and what would be needed later on end game. I know Kin is most likely my best bet, but is there any other choice beside Kin? I had a Fire/FF controller up to 41 before the nerf to how many pets you could have out at a time and I deleted him (Having 9 Imps all Bubbled was just to awesome), which I am regretting now. I'm open for anything including Kin along with a build to go by, just looking for good suggestions.
Also this toon will be made on the Virtue server if anyone is up for a leveling team of some sort? This game isn't all that great solo, never has been to me =/.
Thanks in advance! -
Just read through all of that and I honestly wish I saw stuff like that on the Freedom server within an SG. It's all about farming and whatnot nowadays. Back in '04-'05, I was in an SG on Champion that was exactly like the one your in, doing TF's all the time, and helping others, server wide Hammy raids, Tanker Tuesdays, and the such. After coming back from a 5 year break, I miss those days so much.
I may just end up making a toon on Virtue to enjoy those times with yall if there is still room left for an old vet like me. =X -
Same here, Freedom server DBServer has Served me another one.
-
Been gone for 5 years up until GR release.
Just dinged my 4th 50, Thunder Tower, Elec/SD Scrapper Sunday. I guess you could say first 50 since this is technically a new beginning for me with all the changes >.>. Now where did I put that "Win Lottery" button so I could get rich in game for speccing out.... -
Wow thanks, I guess I wasn't searching for the right thing when I looked earlier for something like this.
I'm guessing none of the builds posted there have really changed much with the release of Issue 18, if not at all. -
So I recently came back to the game, decided to make a new farming character since my Fire/Fire Tank isn't the best at it anymore.
I just hit 50 on my Elec/SD last night after 4 days and was looking for a farming build that isn't to costly since I'm not all that rich. I could probably push around 300-500mill influence atm since I have been gone from game for 5 years. Still new to the whole IO thing, but slowly learning it.
If at all possible could I get a build that isn't full of purps but is still really good, and one that is full of purps so I can build my way toward that. -
Yea I'm still learning about IO's here and there, just recently talked to somebody about how to make some money. Coming from a Wolf/Ninja farmer from AV missions to selling recipes, alot has changed to say the least.
Is there a primer or something I could read that would give me a better knowledge of the IO's themselves without having to look at each set. I know the more powerful ones that are best like Oblits, DRWounds, Kin Combat, and some of the oranges but that's as far as my knowledge goes.
I will test out one of these builds when I can, still pretty poor compared to todays standards since I haven't played in years =/, so will be hard to fund all the IO's and each build. I would use my primary build that is full of Hammy-O's, but I don't want to mess with it since I can use it to make money atm. -
Forgive me for asking this but I haven't played the game actively since Issue 4 until recently with the release of Going Rogue. But is there a reason Acrobatics is not in any of the builds? Has it been nerfed from it's previous glory or am I missing something?
I just remember it was almost mandatory to pick up Tough, Weave, and Acrobatics along with your base shields to be able to survive large groups with knockbacks and such. -
Maybe after 3 years of absence and 2 months on my account, I will be able to make this TT o.0
Greetings ya oldies btw!
