My husband (Zenvious/Mr. Zen, Hero Prime) and I have been here a long time. Sure we took a few breaks but we've always come back. Even if we said we never would. There are friends we met here who are now like family to us and to our kids.
Having to say goodbye is scary and heart wrenching. The lives of the characters I've played have impacted my life in so many ways. The stories that they were involved in- yours and mine- are a part of my history as a person. They are a part of my future, too.
The Zenvious Foundation was a group that I'm proud to say I was a part of, that I helped lead. I can say the same for Tangent.
My characters lives will go on. They always have and always will. Whether that's on paper, through discussion or just in my head they will not fade away.
Winsome Blue will continue to work with Gadgette to save people from their lives of pain and misery with her Safehouses.
Little Miss Vagary, finally realizing she needs to start growing up, has begun to do just that. She's learning and training, focusing on becoming a young woman full of inner strength, courage and love for people. She's even begun writing.
Jade Ohm is working in Nepal where she lives with her husband- Psi Monk- and their daughter Vagary. Her family is what matters most to her and always will.
Fiera-Arcane (Lexi) has a life with her husband Hero Prime (Mike) and their eleven month old son in an unreachable dimension of Earth.
Thank you for making this a place full of experiences. Whether those were wonderful or frustrating, amazing or painful experiences looking back I'm glad I went through them all.
As Solwynde, I'd like to offer a thank you to every single one of you that spent any time on Team Ramen or Team Beef Ramen. It was a lot of fun hearing you ding. I'm glad I could be a part of making some of your experiences better and full of more smiles and laughs than you had found elsewhere. It was an honor to be your team leader.
I don't want to say goodbye.
But I will because I have to. Even if it's accompanied by huge tears, gulps of air and the trumpeting of a blowing nose.
There have been woes shared here. Sadness and happiness have flowed like streams from me to you and you to me. Burdens where lifted and carried and sometimes set down as we shared not only a love of storytelling but a sense of camaraderie in the game outside City of Heroes, the game of life.
This game, this world, this server, this group of people means so much to me. I wish all of you the best. I mean that sincerely. Be joyous, full of smiles and laughter. Dance and live. Really live.
I appreciate all the friendships I've made and look forward to continuing those friendships beyond City of Heroes.
As Vagary would say, “I hate to go. It's not fair, it's really really not. I don't want to go and saying goodbye hurts. It hurts a whole lot and everybody's gonna cry because when you're sad and your heart hurts you just have to cry. Please don't make me say it.”
-Pause-
“Fine. Goodbye. I'll miss you. I won't be able to help it cause my heart feels like it's being stomped on and my head knows it should just be a game but it's more than that and we all know that it's more than that but goodbye. I have to say goodbye because it's the right thing to do even if it's not fair. Remember me. I'll remember you.”
