Goodbye, Mission Architect!

I know I was bit late to the game, and a bit outside the arc and community's heyday, but enjoyed contributing and running through others' arcs too.

So many provided feedback and advice that helped me refine mine further, and I still had ideas to improve them. So hearty thanks to Glazius, Zamuel, SupaFreak, FredrickSvanberg, Clave, Backfire, and many many more. From encouragement to detailed feedback to just the end of an arc's feedback, you helped my arcs improve and evolve, and for that I am grateful...

So sad they, and others' hard (and fun!) work , are disappearing...

IIRC, the servers don't need to be up for your client to run a demorecord file - that way you could always film it and share it via Youtube.
This. A thousand times this.
It's not perfect. It's not going to have sound. It's not going to be the same as playing it. But it's something. In fact, for an arc or two that were broken by the "trigger all the NPC dialog on entry" bug, it'll actually give me the chance to make them look the way they should've. Plus, I'll be able to put in the emotes that should've been in there. All the emotes--I'm looking at you, airguitar. Yeah, it'll take a lot of time tinkering with demo editing, but I have the feeling I'll have a lot of that come December.

Hi Dalgrhyn, Coulomb, Mr Captainman, Gypsy Rose, FredrikSvanberg, Clave-Dark, Cantankerous Venture and so many more people who made the AE community into something incredible! I will miss you all too.

I did keep playing AE, even though I stopped posting. Someone would find one my arcs every couple of months and send me a complimentary tell, it really meant a lot every time I saw one of those. Unfortunately not even the award nominated ones were included in the stickied list because Policewoman felt they were not to her taste, but people found them nonetheless. Work got very busy for me this year but I always planned to go back and write more arcs, my sig said so. There were some great game mechanics added since I filled my three slots, and I've tried them out unpublished. So much potential!

Demorecord is VERY highly recommended, watch yourself play your arc as a movie later on (needs only the client, not the servers). Take your friends through with you. You can even switch your recorded costume with another by editing the file, add in some beta costume elements... okay so I am obviously not working that hard

Hope to see y'all in December, against all probability.

Now that I can finally chime in (used got VIP back today) I wanted to heartily agree with everything people have said in this thread. I was ready to retire from CoH when MA was announced and kept me from doing so for a very long time. While at first it was the fun of creating arcs and having them played, it quickly became the MA community. The MA Arc Finder channel and MA Super Team brought me more pleasure and friends than I ever could have imagined. I won't list all the people again as everyone already has and you guys know who you all are.

I just...I don't know.

Been thinking lately. While there were good times and had fun with it, there was a fair bit of frustration. A number of times I felt like I was wasting time (and money) and I knew I wound up taking a few things personally. Still, I'm grateful for all the people who labored to improve the system.

Yeah, hear what you are saying. It was MA that pulled me back into CoH just when I was finally getting bored, but it certainly had it's downs. To be honest, MA was ultimately what led me to cancel all three of my accounts (after all of my arcs and several others authors arcs were ratings greiefed to oblivion and no action was taken to right it). Still, the people I met and the fun times we had made up for most of it.
