Kheldian memories
Wow they are some awesome pics matey.
He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.
Thanks.
Can't let it go without a nod to the purple side. Only one 'shade has gotten to 50 for me - Violet Flame, part of the "squid squad" with a couple of friends.

My Warshade was my third ever character. From the time I made him, I was playing for at least 4 hours every single day, that's how much I fell in love with the Archetype. I don't think I played anything else for about 6 months.
The first time I ever turned into a Dark Nova. Holy crap, that was just so awesome to me.
When I got Dwarf Form and found Dechs' the MFing Warshade. It was a complete elevation to what was already the single most awesome character I had ever played in a video game.
When I finished my first perma eclipse build and realized that I could play on 54x8. I would spend hours a day either soloing or on teams in RWZ just doing Borea missions, collecting shards and having fun.
When I switched to a purpled out, high defense human only build. This was the biggest game changer for me since getting Dwarf Form. Soloing 54x8 Malta, soloing AV's. It was just so empowering and awesome.
The All Kheldian Lambda on Protector, and the all Kheldian Keyes and second Lambda on Freedom. It was so great to lead these things and have so many of the most well known and (in my opinion) awesome Kheldian players in the game participate. How smoothly they went was such an awesome feeling.
And last but not least, Kheldian Fridays. It originally started out with just myself, Stone Daemon and AIB and became a very long-running, very successful weekly event. We accomplished so many awesome things, including all Kheldian Apex, Tin Mage, and even an all Kheldian Rikti Raid. It was so awesome to play with my best COH friends during this awesome event.
So, with the news of the pending shutdown...
Seems I've been tied up with Kheldians since I started. I started in Issue 3, right along with them. And I remember - *still* remember - being on a team going through the Hollows arcs. We reached the door just as a Peacebringer finished their mission, popping out in Nova form.
I remember looking and going "What was THAT? That's... COOL."
That Kheldian kept me going even through all the blaster deaths - with our doubled debt ceiling. When debt mattered. When we had that nasty content gap in the late 30s you had to grind through one way or another.
On my birthday, actually, around 1 AM, I got to 50. And immediately rolled my Peacebringer. I've been hooked since. I *loved* that character. Still do. And PBs in general.
I learned the lore. I loved having a lore track *just for me.* Enemies dedicated to hunting *me.*
I decided that my blaster had finally gotten trapped, captured by the council. They worked on breaking her will, weakening her to become host to a Nictus and infiltrate her supergroup, destroying it from the inside... except that her patron goddess (being magic) and a scout for the Kheldians worked together to prepare and free her. She'd joined with the Kheld as the Council were coming for her, fighting her way out...
And really relishing revenge on the enemies that had given her problems on the way to 50. (Dwarf form was *very* nice... as was lightform.)
Therra Paladina - last name changed for, oh, a few RP reasons, generally involving a change of attitude and self-given mission - hit 50 about a year later, mostly due to altitis. The trip was a blast.
(really need a color version of that - love the look.)
Two PBs at 50, one 'shade. Took me longer to get into the 'shade playstyle, honestly.... I'm a PB fan at heart.
... and then they go and say the game's closing.
