MA/Invu X STJ/Invull vs SS/Invul

I have a MA/Invul scrapper that was a lot fun to level up, but I find it extremely weak on big teams, mostly because the damage output leaves a lot to be desired.

How is a STJ or SS/Invul brute comparable to a MA/Invul scrapper? I am seriously considering rerolling her as a brute.

Thanks

I see you have a Stone/WP Brute. The best way I can describe Super Strength to you then is to say that imagine Fault did damage but you had to wait until 32 to get it. Knockout Blow (with Rage) is comparable to Seismic Smash. Really the only downside to SS is the Rage crash where for 10 seconds every 2 mins you hit for 4 damage (not a typo, it is literally 4 damage). Other than that, SS is super sexy.

Street Justice has a smaller radius AoE and adds a decent cone. The -res attack is pretty nice and -def attack let's you stick a -res proc there. The set feels extremely visceral. Lots of snaps and cracks in the SFX. Combo mechanism is not a fan of being interupted by click powers, but it's still playable on /Regen (though I didn't like it and rerolled my /Regen brute as SS).

That said, my ElM/Invuln Brute manages to sit at 76.35% resistance to S/L and is softcapped to S/L with 2 foes in Invincibilty (still finishing up his build, when done he'll also be E/N softcapped with 4 foes). I'd say that to feel close to playing MA again, StJ would likely be similar. SS is kind of it's own beast and only really plays like SS not any other set, to my mind.

Thanks!

STJ definitely feels more like MA concept-wise, typical hero chick that kicks some ***.

The best I could get on my MA Scrapper was about 66% L/S but her build was kinda dated and I didn't even respec to introduce her to IOs

What bothers me about MA is the fact I feel so useless on teams compared to other melees, there is always a maxxed out fury brute foot stomping everything or a claws scrapper wiping out spawns.

I am going with STJ/Invul, how far can /invul brute be softcapped at resist and def?

Ideally, shoot for 45% S/L/E/N/F/C with 1 in range of invincibility...if you fall short on F/C that's ok...try as hard as you can to get S/L/E/N. My DM/INV brute build is 45% S/L/E/N and 40-41% F/C. To get F/C up slot 3 Aegis in your auto powers...slot 4 Reactive Armor in toggles for S/L/E/N...use all the ones with resistance in them. Tough/Weave/Combat Jumping/Manuevers will help you get there and the 3% steadfast and gladiators make a big difference too.

I 3 slotted the Brute ATIO catalyzed in two powers on my ElM/Invuln brute for a tasty +10% S/L. Other than that, what _j said.
