Hi.

Nearing 50 on my TW/WP scrapper, and i'm coming to the realisation i don't really know how to slot this...

I am taking the body mastery pool so i can fit in 3 +end procs. I have numinas + miracle procs plus the gladiator +3% def IO, other than that my budget is around 2 bil.
I was planning on going muscle alpha for the dmg boost, i should be able to sustain myself somewhat with QR+Stamina+Physical Perfections+IOs+conserve power.

But what to do with willpower, no idea as i've not IO'd one before. Should i go for some +regen, get what defense i can... i'd need some recharge too i suppose to keep my attacks up.
Tips and suggestions are welcome

TW and WP is unfortunately a hard combination to slot for because WP gets nothing from +recharge, but TW seems to get quite a bit.

However I would probably concentrate on defence over recharge at least until you are 32.5% to all types (Not positions) and then squeeze in whatever recharge you can manage.

WP doesn't really need too much +regen, and +hp seems built into most of the sets you will be looking at anyway.

I can't remember how much positional defence a WP starts with, but using Defensive Sweep to help cap melee while also looking for typed defences could also be a good idea, but many people seem to skip Defensive Sweep as the weakest of the attack powers.

Willpower benefits tremendously from defense bonuses, especially S/L. As PrincessDarkstar said, 32.5% is a good threshold; more is better, but softcapping is both difficult and generally unnecessary for /WP. Health bonuses are nice, but don't go too far out of your way for them. Recharge is great for TW. Regen set bonuses are a drop in the bucket compared to what you already have from powers, so don't bother with them, other than any you might get by accident while building for other things.

Just for example, here is the build mine uses; the purples place it outside your specified price range, but can be easily replaced with cheaper sets without significant impairment.

That's a pretty solid starting point, I've just got some ideas for fine-tuning:

High Pain Tolerance should be slotted for health first; you can slot it for resist too if you want, but it definitely needs heal enhancement first.

Obliteration and Scirocco's Dervish are good sets, but they give mostly positional defense, and /WP benefits more from typed defense. Swapping in some Eradications can boost your energy and negative energy defenses.

The Force Feedback: Chance for +Rech proc is excellent in Whirling Smash, because it gets a chance to fire for each target hit. When you're surrounded by enemies, the proc will go off more often than not.

The scrapper ATO set is a bit expensive, but not much more so than Kinetic Combat. Even without catalysts it's an excellent set, so if it's within your price range, I recommend using it, probably in Titan Sweep or Arc of Destruction.

Edit: It's also worth mentioning that Resurgence got a nice buff in i22; it now makes you untouchable for 15 seconds after rezzing, so it's now a decent combat rez instead of totally useless. /WP has been great for years without a useful rez, so it's still far from mandatory, but worth considering.

Got half of that build and played around some with it, it's nice but not quite there...

So i went back and looked at your first build and made some modifications.
Still will take me ages before i can afford this, but i had 3 purples drop last night in DA, so that should get me halfway at least, the armageddon will have to wait... for a long time might slot it same as titan sweep until then, or keep it like that with the added energy def.

Kind of curious tho i slotted crushing blow like it is in mids, but the % bonuses aren't quite same, Mids say accuracy 46.13%, but in game its only about 41%, small diff but still.

Ps.
Whats the deal with enhancement boosters, is there any drawback to using em, was pondering boosting the kinetic combats and eradication ones some to make em better.
I got like 80 of em laying around.

The difference in accuracy is because the Mako's quad in CB is +5'ed. There's no drawback at all to using boosters, other than having to obtain them A few other things in that build are also booster'ed, because like you I had a bunch laying around and a few powers with not-quite-capped enhancement.

Armageddon is a wonderful set, but given its cost it's some of the lowest bang-per-buck in the build, and swapping it out just gives up a bit of recharge and the proc, not a defense bonus or something else critical. 5 pieces of Oblit, Scirocco's, or simply frankenslotting would get almost the same result for a small fraction of the cost.

I see you softcapped S/L defense, very nice!

Well, a dear friend gave me a billion which allowed me to finish the build (without the purples of course... whoop!). Just missing some catalysts to make the superior scrapper things.

After testing it some... is very nice!
Can't wait to get some incarnate luv on it and see how it does. Got talked into trying agility over muscle, so i'll be doing that i think.

Assuming you use Barrier, this is what I would do for a TW/Will. I'm unoriginal, so I reused a lot of the tricks I used to build the TW/Elec Brute. Basically, I went for 40%+ to smashing/lethal/fire/cold, and perma-hasten (with agility as your alpha). Very high on expense, but that comes with the territory. Bonuses include 2200 hp (60 hps with one target is RtC, 101 with RtC maxed), 3 -res procs, and decent numbers for resistances. Not quite enough recharge to run "my chain" I think, but still decent numbers, and simply adding an empowerment +recharge buff should do the trick.

Mmm... i really think that build would have massive end issues.
Plus don't really see the point in adding two attacks to TW. To each their own i spose.

It might. Usually that amount of net endurance would be fine, but TW is excessive (remember, I usually run on an /elec so I get infinite endurance). But, you could alternatively get ageless for enemies that don't require softcap.

The two attacks from fire are basically just for purple sets, though fire ball is nice to have another large-scale AoE option.

I'd have to test it on the test server to see if the endurance is too little. If it is, I would probably switch to energy, put just a performance shifter proc in pp and move the purple set to boxing.

Finally got the last catalyst, yay. Builds all done for now!
I actually have 3 purples i've converted, Pondering if i wanna drop my 40% energy down some and slot em or not. And extra proc in whirlign smash is sounding delicious tho.

Also got my agility tier 3 alpha. Which i thoguht would plug in my end issues, but i susepct the added recharge is not offset by the added end mod, so end is slightly worse now! Oh well, the build is quite nice, i am having a blast (smash?) with it. I seem to be able to hold my own pretty well vs 54's. Not a full 8 man group tho (without inspirations), but a 4-5man group is no problems.

I'll post my own build, mostly for another viewpoint. 45% S/L defense, 37.5% E/N def, and 34.6% F/C. S/L resistance is at 52.8%. Decent, but probably not THE best build. Lots of +5 boosted powers as well.

I'm by no means an expert, but played quite a bit with this char now and looking at your build i'm a bit taken aback with your slotting.
Only one end mod IO in both QR and Stamina, and slotted healing in Physical Perfection.
From personal experience wirh my slotting and the alpha added now, i am running out of endurance in larger/longer fights unless i get something like speed boost, or another outside buff, this with a netgain of over 3.5 end/sec.

Also Titan weapons really rather need a lot of recharge, i didn't think much of it, but man... it does, to the point where i'm considering losing some def for slotting two purple sets.

I'll throw in my TW/WP build for consideration, its far more defense based, at the cost of a small chunk of recovery, but I'm finding that conserve power, strength of will and if need be blues are keeping me going through most fights.
