I've never tried it myself, but I asked once and was told that the FF proc works with any of the ammunition. So supposedly, slot it in HoB and use any ammo and it will still have a chance to go off.
Of course, this is just hearsay.
I don't know about HoB, but I have the proc in Bullet Rain, and it works with all ammo types. The same applies to Empty Clips with Achilles' Heel.

I am really anal about my respecs so I appreciate the foreknowledge.

Does the proc only work when you are using the correct ammo type?
Lethal only, and in all cases on Hail of Bullets?
