Tank WP/SS Fully Capped DEF+Regen Beast

Been thinking about rolling a WP/SS tank. I've never leveled either set to 50 so wanted to have any experts familiar with the sets to look it over for any gotchas I might miss.

*Note: Turn on accolades and incarnates with Spiritual Core Paragon+Reactive Radial Flawless (though that one might change after I look over the new incarnates or depending on what I'm fighting)

Good Stuff:
-All DEF types capped. (Psionic is off by .06% but if you really want it and have inf to burn then take 2 slots off Tough and change the armor to a 2 billion inf glad +3%)

-108.8 HP/sec Regen with only 1 enemy in range. 175.3 HP/sec with 10 enemies in range.

-Perma-rage

-Resurgence can be replaced with taunt depending on preference.

-69.8 S/L Resistance for an extra layer.

-1.65 End gain per sec

You definitely need more net end gain per sec...even with three performance shifter procs. Spamming Footstomp and KoB along with the Rage crash gets pretty costly.

Your defense may look good on paper...but that's with stealth activated...which loses some of it's defense bonus...while also being a terrible power for a Tank. You want enemies to see you. 41.6% without it is good...but you may want to look to build it to the softcap without stealth.

You also do not have Taunt. On a WP Tank...Taunt is almost needed to do your job. With stealth and no taunt...you won't be holding any agro.

While Incarnate abilities may boost your potential...you still have to plan for 1-50.

1: No +Acc slotted in your ST attacks. Even with Rage and FA, you aren't going to be hitting much. Drop the KinCombat KD procs. 20% chance of KD isn't worth never hitting anything.

2: You're running 10 toggles. Your resting endurance consumption is CRAZY. Even though you're rocking three PerfShifter procs, I'd still be worried about slurping yourself dry in combat.

3: I know you're trying to go for max +HP to milk the most from regen. However, with 49% defense to everything you're never going to see it put to good use.

While it's expensive (and they're hard as hell to get), consider foregoing the LOTG 3-piece bonus in favor of LOTG+Rech, Cytoskeleton, Cytoskeleton (or Enzyme, Enzyme if you can find them).

The Cytox2 will bring your defense down a LITTLE, but it'll add decent Endurance Reduction and bring your resting endurance consumption under better control

4: You're relying on Stealth to soft-cap. Remember that once you attack or are attacked, Stealth suppresses. And you have Rise to the Challenge WHICH IS A TAUNT AURA working to draw enemies to you, even stealthed.

5: No taunt. WP tanks have what is likely the weakest taunt aura in the game. And, as you're eating endurance points like they're going out of style, belching, then screaming for "MOAR!", you're not going to be able to retain aggro by relying on Gauntlet.

6: You took Focused Accuracy instead of Tactics. Tactics provides more +ToHit and half the endurance consumption.

7: Take a serious look at Spiritual Radial.

Your regen would still be huge and more, your attack chain would be sustainable (Recovery of 4 End/Sec (plus three PerfShifters) and Resting End Use of 1.42/sec). Plus the option for Conserve Power if you're really in a bind.
You're losing a lot of HP and regen with that build.

Tactics...sure...it's less endurance than Focused Accuracy...but it's only 1% Tohit better...minus the +Acc...minus the tohit debuff resistance...which should be the main reason for picking up FA anyways.

Also...no travel power.

True, and on the build I put up, he'd have endurance to spare. So swapping back to FA might be a better choice.

Well, in lieu of dropping a PVP IO in SOW, change it out for SJ...
Honestly, with Beast/Ninja Run and the various travel temps, a travel power is less vital to a build nowadays.

I like Vitality's build quite a bit. The only thing I see it losing is the (almost) capped psionics.

Accuracy is not a problem. The above posted build should be well over the accuracy cap on +4's. (turn on perma-rage and Focused accuracy to have 153.7% Acc against +4 enemies on the lowest acc attacks) (also set base tohit to 39 in options to see Acc vs +4s and remember that 95% is the cap)

I made a few tweaks to Vitality's build:

-Added the left over slot to taunt for the 7.5% recharge bonus.
-Swapped the Gaussian set from Rage to FA so that the Chance for Build-up IO is in a toggle.
-Swapped the Rectified Reticule tohit/recharge IO to rage and added 2 recharge IOs for perma-rage.

I took a build that I looked at earlier this month and worked on for Ultra G and thought how would I make it a little bit more better in regen?

I can't remember exact figures but I think a Tanker with 80HP/s regen backed up by 2 empaths is comfortable Hami tanking on the Hami-raid. That being minimum I think for the job became the goal.

Also wanted something that I would consider, that would work rest of the game so I didn't bleep the build too much from its original look. I did add Manuevers as the build can handle it. I am not a fan of tankers having it normally, but it's just to get a couple of points over softcap. It's just something where not much else would go in the build with decent slotting. It was replacing Ultra Gs recall friend.

Anyway, not quite as much regen as some people but its enough to hami tank nice (that is iirc) plus not giving up too much in other areas cos G knows you can add alot of +regen but lose so much elsewhere.

I almost fell out of my chair when I saw your build had everything the other one did, but capped S/L resistance too! I couldn't figure out how you pulled it off at first, then I saw that you had SoW toggled on

They look extremely similar. Yours seems to give up about 7 HP/sec to go over the softcaps on DEF a little. I think I'll stick with the higher regen as there is no point going over by so little. Anything with -DEF debuff is going to do more than we can get as a buffer on a WP.

Speaking of which, how good is the 21.6% Defense Debuff resistance that WP has? anyone know?

I think alot of people like to go over soft cap by 7% to compensate for def debuffs.

I almost fell out of my chair in a way comparing mine to yours. I had to turn everything off and everything back in again to see just how you had such a great end rec to end cost window, because in my head it shouldn't be. It was something like me leaving Fly on. I think your window is slightly greater than mine but your attack chain eps makes that window narrower. I like to DPS and not run out of end which on a typical endeavour you shouldn't be but I lost that 5-7hp in regen because it could tank hami and potentially on a non typical endeavour where your end drained a tad do more damage over time.

I'm not really concerned with the endurance on this build. It looks like plenty to me. I have a fire tank with way less endurance gain per sec (along the lines of under 1/s with all the toggles running), though she does have consume to help with that, the fire AOE attacks still eat endurance like crazy but she never has any endurance issues unless exemped down.

As I've said though, I've never taken a WP or SS up to a high level before, so I don't know how much End they use or need.

I don't mind popping a blue every now and then under heavy play. I just got sick and tired of HAVING to have a tray full of purples at all times to survive on the fire tank. When the purples run out you really feel it, but if blues run out I can always just slow down a little. When you run out of purples you faceplant, but when low on end you just slow down on damage, but at least you live.
