organize TF/SF/Trials
Agreed with everything in the OP. A bonus to XP/Inf/Shards/Threads for taking along people who didn't join as a pre-formed group would be nice as well. Not something that ruin it for SGs, but, say, 3 out of an 8 person TF being public entrants for the maximum bonus would be fair, that allows 5 friends to play together, and is probably sufficient to tailor your group to a mastery run as well.
Some servers have player-made global chat channels dedicated to forming TFs/Trials. Idea seems pretty nice, but the D/C thing seems too easy to grief. People can fill in slots then disconnect to annoy everyone into forming a new team.

The problem with those, they aren't open intives for the first __ playes to click [join] in. they still have to send a tell or request an invite. That, and it's only open to the players the channel moderator invited, not everyone. Lastly, it wouldn't have a constant feed of who what teams have availability. The playere made channel is FAR too limited.

I still think that, if a player chooses, they can still lock out people from joining, even if they're below the number of required players. I know people would still want to do solo TFs and should have the right to do/try them.

Oh, I agree. I think the minimum is mostly silly anyway. Most of the mission arcs warn you when you're going to be facing an EB/AV by hinting that you should gather a team, you could just as easy give TFs the same warning while lowering the minimum to 1 on all of them.

The XP bonus idea just came to mind when thinking of ideas on how to get people out of DFB, and to get solo queuers into the action faster in all LFG activities.

Though, missions (even if they could be started with only one person, which I don't agree with) would still spawn based on required players 4-8 or just 8 with applicable AVs. The whole point of soloing them.

First step: Add a TF/SF/Trial event option to the chat window. It would show listings of the events that have been started. Example: Twigman is forming positron1 and has 3/8 in team [join]. if you click join you'll auto join team and auto exit if you're in a mission. When someone clicks "join" it auto updates the post.
Second step: Change the TF contacts from saying "you need a team to start this task" to "I have informed my connections that you are looking to take on this task I'll give you the option to start once you have the minimum requirement teammates.
Additions to the TF/SF/Trials should be up to the leader. If players go missing "DC" he should be able to choose to not let random people join. I say this, because if a friend of his/hers DCs and he's waiting for them to get back, it would suck for the slot to be filled and the other person to have to start a whole new TF again. Also, if you join a TF/SF/Trial part of the way through (not starting with them from the beginning. any badges for completing it would not be awarded.)
When selecting to join, it gives on objective (like a mission objective) that tells you to get to the required zone (in this case, steel), so new teammates and noobs know where they're supposed to go to start.
And naturally, you can assemble a team before clicking if you want specific types or friends in the TF.
