anyone ever try a dark/poison?
Do you plan to solo a lot? If so, then you may find Dark's lack of a heavy hitting single target blast a problem. That was my experience at least. But on teams I find that Dark really shines with 2 fast recharging cones that also stack with the yummy debuffs of /Poison. Keep in mind that /Poison's tier 9 requires you to be up close and personal, so using your cones will be more difficult. Personally, I find that poison works best with something that has targeted AoEs or PBAoEs, but YMMV.
Killjoy - AR/Kin Cor | Grimwind - Dark/Cold Corr
Fallowlord - Plant/Ice Dom | Game Warden - TA/A Def
Thought Police - Mind/Psi Dom | Gammarauder - Rad/Traps
I've played dark and poison, but not together. I don't think the pairing would be especially powerful when compared to other corruptor combinations, but it does have some possible synergies with stacked -tohit, and life drain making up for poison's lack of self heal. However, I think venomous gas would be very difficult to use effectively along with dark's aoes, since they're all cones.
You already know about poison, so I'll just give a few comments on dark blast:
The single target damage is kind of low or middle of the road. Gloom does nice damage, but takes almost 5 seconds to deal it all (activation + travel time + 3.6s DoT). Life drain is a nice utility power for a secondary that has no self heal, but its damage is a bit low for a blast. The overall AoE damage is... passable, but you have to work for it. Two different sized cones are a little awkward to use together (or three if you use torrent), but you can try slotting a +range enhancement in tenebrous tentacles to keep from having to run back and forth to line up the cones as much.
Dark pit is a trap. I recommend against taking it unless you're going to use it as a set mule. It has an even more severe accuracy penalty than AoE control normally has. It only affects minions unless you have something else to stack with it. And it only lasts for 9 seconds at level 50.
Blackstar has a hefty -50% tohit, which I really liked having on my crash nuke. Lack of aim makes it less exciting than it could be though.
Edit: If you really wanted a poison and dark character for concept reasons, you could also consider radiation blast and dark miasma. Aside from the odd noises some of the blasts make (and x-ray eyes), radiation might pass for poison. Just a thought.

Life Drain: Reduced this power's recharge from 15 to 8 seconds, reduced its Endurance cost from 12 to 8.53 and increased its damage from scale 1 to scale 1.64.

Radiation is a good thematic pairing for Poison, and offers both a PBAoE and a Targeted AoE attack. As Omnislayer points out, this can make for a happy melee-living corruptor. Unfortunately, Radiation Blast offers no real mitigation other than the stun in Cosmic Burst. Electron Haze has knockback, but then you're removing critters from Venomous Gas's tasty debuffs.
I was planning on soloing quite a bit. Corrupters lack is there defense and yeah I thought the combined debuffs would help a lot, but if there cones need to be put back some then I could get something else for sure. Rad does have some synergies with poison. I 'll keep that in mind.
Thought of trying a Plant/Poison Controller? Just Seeds of Confusion, Roots for AoE containment damage, and Venomous Gas going, you can stand in the middle and watch stuff kill each other while you saw their legs off.
P.S. Almost fergot! On the Controllers I've run it on, I only ever bothered using Alkaloid when I had nothing else to do. Your debuffs and lockdown will do WAY more for the team than a long-animating single heal ever will. It's decent to have when ya need it, but in a lot of situations it's just a waste of time that would be better spent proactively hammering stuff. Those Freakshow aren't going to poison themselves, after all!

I really loved poison on my mm and wanted to pair it something with a tad but more of survivability. I usually play defenders ands am thinking of crossing over to a corrupter. I haven't seen anyone with this build, but I find it would be easy to play...at least in theory. Any comments on this build would be greatly appreciated. I haven't made it yet, but I have a story prepared if I do.
