How does Beam/Dark sound to you?

Oh, I'm fully aware of that. I'm not under the illusion that much of anything will ever be as survivable and damage-crazy as my Warshade is. However I was pointing out that with good s/l/e resists and ~32.5% s/l/e/n defense that I would be plenty survivable to stand in melee and ST blast in most content.

The main key to making a weapon ranged set work as a Blaster is to handle things in chains with your attacks. Don't constantly swap between using Beam and Dark attacks: use Beam until you want to switch over to dark for the rest of a fight, so you don't waste time on redraw. I suppose that's really no different than most weapon ATs, but Scrappers, Tanks, etc. don't have as much reason to redraw from their defense sets as Blasters do from their secondaries.
Dual Pistols is known to play well in melee, if redraw is what you're getting at with referencing weapon sets I doubt that would be too detrimental to survivability. The reason I asked about the dark attacks was because I was curious about the best single target DPS chain for Beam/Dark, which has nothing whatsoever to do with Disintegration though the only responses I've gotten have referenced it. I know that ST Blaps should not be used for optimizing AoE damage.

As I said earlier, theme and fun can trump the numbers for most people, and I know TwoHeaded likes to have fun, and the void concept. He'll be fine.

Fun is the name of the game, after all. Still though, I feel the pairing could be a good one based on the further research I've done on BR. I will post the build I drew up as soon as I finish procrastinating on buying the powerset.
