Guide to the Human/Nova Peacebringer
Nice to see someone without Mids writing a guide. I can see where you are going for the most part but I am a little concerned with the number of decimation sets and positrons blast sets. They are dispersed between different forms but I am wondering if the rule of 5 still counts. My PB is built differently so I can not confirm. I believe that both sets offer the same recharge bonus and when you go over 5 of the same bonuses any more sets offering that bonus doesn't work. So the 6.25% rechg maybe capped at 5 with additional doing nothing.
You may have more than 5 LotGs +rechg 7.5% in the build also. Spare ones can be used in other builds and the slot itself could be moved to Stamina.
Thats the sort of thing that stood out and maybe I am wrong, the rest of it, the time and consideration, I thank you.
He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.
Thank you for the feedback!
Greetings, folks! Let me start off by saying that I'm a Mac user, so I don't have access to Mids. That means that what follows isn't as number-crunchy as I'd like it to be and I can't offer you specific stats on the build. What I can tell you is that it works in practice. I'm currently soloing mobs in the RWZ on Borea missions at x8 with no difficulty.
The is one person's guide to a Human/Bright Nova dual form Peacebringer. It borrows heavily from the work done here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...9&postcount=24
The goal here was to make Light Form permanent, but still have the squiddie form I love so much. Both sides are playable and a helluva lot of fun.
Quick notes: Light Form is perma, but I'm still having more endurance issues than I'd like when I run hot. I have to pop a small blue now and then. Also, my goal in designing this was to create a high-end build for a level 50 PB without slotting any purples. Everything I have here I bought for 2 Hero Merits or less. Or cash. Cash is always good. There are a lot of expensive items on the shopping list, but it's all doable.
Since this was meant for end-game play, I'll leave it to you to decide in what order to add your slots. I tried to keep it pretty balanced on the way up, though I slotted my Nova powers first, figuring I'd be more useful in that form in the lower levels.
Last, there are two important keybinds that I use on this character. I use my keypad for these. You can choose your own. (If you need help with learning how to use keybinds, look elsewhere on the forums. There are some excellent guides out there.)
The first keybind I use turns you into your Bright Nova form and swaps your bottom tray to Tray 5, where I keep all my Nova powers:
NUMPAD3 "powexec_name Bright Nova$$goto_tray 5"
The next one is a bit problematic. The string is too long to just cut and paste, so you need to actually create a bind file (.txt) on your hard drive, then open it up and modify it. Here's how:
In your chat window, type: /bind_save_file PBNova.txt
Then do a search for this file name (PBNova.txt) and open it to modify. Once you have modified the text document, save it and close it. Log out of your character if you're still on the game. When you log back in, type: /bind_load_file PBNova.txt and all your bindy goodness will be there.
This is what you'll put on the key of your choice. I use NUMPAD1.
NUMPAD1 "powexec_toggleoff Bright Nova$$powexec_toggleon Sprint$$powexec_toggleon Combat Jumping$$powexec_toggleon Weave$$powexec_toggleon Tactics$$powexec_toggleon Maneuvers$$powexec_toggleon Shining Shield$$powexec_toggleon Energy Flight$$goto_tray 1"
Note that the keybinds actually load from right to left, so the first thing that will happen when you hit the key is that you'll swap to Tray 1 and start flying. This is a good thing. You'll be coming out of your Nova form and you'll be airborne. You don't want to wait for your toggles to come on before you start flapping your arms.
Before I paste the build below, I'll note that the choice to take Quantum Acceleration was a personal one. Quantum Flight also offers an increased flight speed, and adds the benefit of being intangible for 30 seconds at a time. It is also an endurance hog of the highest order and I just didn't have the slots to make that better.
Now, onto the build. Here are some of the stats I pulled so you can see what you're getting into:
-153.75% Global Recharge (Perma Light Form)
-85% Resistance to s/l/f/c/e/n
-6% Psionic Resistance
-82.20% Resistance to Toxic (85% w/Essence Boost)
-25.29% s/l defense (27.44% with Combat Flight)
-28.81% Melee Defense, 19.31% Ranged Defense, 19.31% AoE Defense
-.97%/sec Regeneration, 1183.34 HP
-111.25 Max Endurance, 3.57/s End Recovery
