PART I: Serpent's grasp Chapter 1 - Beginnings

Foxy lifted herself from a kneeling position and gazed about her surroundings. She had never gotten over how wondrous this world was around her was. The golden statues and columns mixed well with the marble floor that had been created. To her this was what Mount Olympus itself could have looked like. Her eyes wandered to the council before her. So many eyes watching and awaiting her fate from the lord himself. He held everything in the palms of his hands.

The snake like man arose from his throne and addressed the many who had gathered. The scales on his face and body reflected in the sunlight as if it were an armor he had placed upon himself. He glanced about until his eyes met with Foxy's.

"You are doing well, in fact quite better than I had hoped. For a half bred human you are not all bad it seems." He announced as his tongue flickered in and out.

"Lord Serpentis I will not disappoint you. Of this I promise." Foxy said as she once again kneeled to him.

"See to it you do not Ferret, you and your father's sake rely on it."

The Serpent Lord walked from his throne and left the area roaming towards the inner forest.
Foxy arose once again to see all eyes on her. She took one more glance upward and turned to the exit where Lady Mongoose herself awaited.

"We have much to do Ferret and time is wasting." Mongoose told Foxy as she came into range.

Foxy met Mongoose's eyes with a sigh. She was tired and just wanted this all done with.

"Do not fret Ferret I'll make sure we get this thing, after all you're fighting to save my mentor as well. Your father is a good man. But come you know of this story. We must finish yours."

Foxy thought back to why this had all suddenly happened, how, when....

It had been months ago:

Foxy awoke in a panic. Sweat had been rolling down her face and her heart raced frantically. It had been those two reoccurring dreams that haunted her nights. She was sure the madness shard now embedded inside of her was the cause of it all. Even in the 'gopher hole' she no longer felt the safety and security from her nightmares.

"Cursed Shade..." Foxy mumbled to herself.

Her nightmare terrified her. Could she possibly end up this way?

- "You're betraying them. Letting your whole team, your family down. They will fall beneath you and our power will strengthen...." an unknown voice called out to Foxy.

Foxy could see a large crystal sitting in a room with a man. He looked so familiar but yet he was faded. She could make our his purple suit but nothing more. He didn't seem to notice her either. The crystal pulsated when Foxy walked closer, she could feel a serge of power, not only just that but of corruption as well. She wanted to turn away but something drove her closer and closer until her hand touched it. The room filled with a bright color and soon everything changed.

Foxy could see her orphanage, but something was wrong. It was destroyed and the kids that she had trained, trusted in were laying before her feet dead. Blood covered her hands and claws. She felt herself laughing and turned to see her comrades. Rave Spider was the first to see her in this state. He stopped in shock looking at her and the orphans.
"Once they all perish you will have nothing to hold onto. We will become stronger. You will be the crystal's will." -

It could not be swayed from her mind. With the shard's poison covering her body she needed to seek help and fast. She could hear it speaking out to her as much as she would try and ignore it. Visions, flashes of images she could not comprehend came and went often.

The one dream of the injured man, she could not erase from her mind and it too bothered her. He had ears and a tail, other than that she couldn't make him out well. He was injured in a lush forest, perhaps on Earth or a different version of it? He had said her name out a few times... "Jasmine forgive me."

Who was he and how did he know her true name?

"Foxy... I can help you. Please let me in to help." a familiar voice chimed in Foxy's mind.

The sleeping girl that Foxy had so long protected and promised a cure to would speak every so often telepathically to her even while she slept in her unconscious state.

"Epi. Please tell me who is this person? How can I reach him?" Foxy hoped she'd know.

"You must reach the inner forest, this man he can help you and you him in return. I do not know who he is but I do know your fates are now linked together. I must rest now... so tired."

"Thank you Ep, please rest. I promise one day you'll be up again." Foxy replied.

Foxy began to see images once again in her mind flashes of numbers, a cycle or rhythm of a code. Epilogue had made sure to send those to Foxy before she drifted away from the waking realm once more.
Foxy grabbed her things and began to head back through the tunnels when Ravenwing stopped her.

"Where are you going, you're in no shape to go anywhere until this is fixed."

"Ravenwing, take care of things for me until I return. I know what I must do now." Foxy smiled and gently put her hand on Ravenwing's shoulder.

Ravenwing, a user of dark matter and the trainer of the squad of orphans, turned to her friend and sighed, "Alright Ferret but promise me you'll be back. You know FIST is by your side when you need us."

Foxy laughed, "Oh Valyrie, the serious one out of us all. Yes I will return. I think it's time you set FIST out to become the heroes I know you all can be. I trust in you."

Ravenwing nodded and with that Foxy bounded away into the tunnels unsure of her methods but clear on what she had to do.

PART I: Serpent's grasp Chapter 2 - No turning back

Foxy's skin began to glow faintly as she entered the building she knew Longbow and Portal Corp used to work together. She was sure it was the same building that Red and Blue Havok had used to enter their unfortunate mission. Climbing through the air ducts wasn't always easy but with a small body fit to move around in such areas it gave her a better time maneuvering. Her feet click clacked softly on the vents as she raced through to find the one room she needed. Even in this form the corruption from the shard was noticeable.

"We must keep working!" Foxy could hear someone say in the room below her.

She bounded to a vent where she could see and saw what she was looking for. She was never going to try and win back Longbow, they would never understand her cause or what she did. She knocked the vent off and jumped out causing a fuss among the people down below.

"Stop her!" One of the Longbow agents yelled out when he saw her.

The longbow agent held his rifle at Foxy and shot. The bullet zoomed in on it's target but suddenly stopped in midair, almost as if it had been frozen in time. It glowed a bright pink as did Foxy. She was not going to fail this time, no one was stopping this. She had to reach whoever it was on the other side that called out to her.

The bullet dropped and hit the ground losing the glow effect in the process. Foxy looked sharply at the man who had shot at her intending to cause her harm. He began to glow and his body suddenly flung across the run into glass beakers. They shattered upon his fall and he landed with an uff. He groaned but did not try to get back up.

"Stop this Ferret! You're under arrest!" Foxy heard behind herself.

Foxy glowed brighter and lifted herself off the ground.

"You can beat them all, do it Ferret...." the voice called in her head.

Foxy gave into the shards wish and she released a wave from her body emitting a shock wave of psychic energy. She could feel all this power within her grasp and how they felt so helpless to her. She lifted a hand and sent a few Longbow agents into the air letting them fall on the floor. While more and more arrived Foxy kept at them until something clicked inside of her once more.

"No this isn't me, I can't hurt these people...."

Foxy released another wave of psychic energy this time enveloping herself inside of it creating a shield or barrier for herself. She turned herself from the agents and looked to the console. She brought herself back to the ground and walked to it as bullets flew off her shield continuously.

Foxy heard a familiar voice, "Foxy this is how you want to be remembered? You were a hero once. Look what you've become. I was always right about you, nothing more than a thief that turns her back on those who've helped her in the past."

It was Xero. Foxy growled to herself a moment but thought it wasn't worth letting the shard take hold once again. She entered the numbers into the machine she had seen from Epilogue. It was go time. Now or never.

The portal kicked up and the blue glow could be seen. It was working and Foxy ran to the edge of it getting ready to jump through. The barrage of bullets had stopped and Foxy turned to Xero, captain of the Longbow.

"Xero you'll never truly understand what it is that I do."

Xero took one last shot at Foxy and as it bounced of her barrier he yelled out, "Stop her! Follow her in if you must!"

Foxy took her bow out quickly and as she jumped through the portal she let the arrow fly into the console destroying her only way out. The glow of the portal faded along with Xero's chance at finding his nemesis.
