Laylapalooza--Event starting August 19th

For the Sunday during Laylapalooza I'll be running a special Strike Force Sunday. It'll be an attempted master of Barracuda SF run along with a mini costume contest for the participants of the SF. It's going to be an evil costume contest, with a prize of 100mil inf, and the details are Here.

Less than two weeks now! I've added a special edition of Kheldian Fridays to the event list, so I hope to see some khelds out there attend

I'll take this moment to expand on the contests theme--which is to make your best Kheldian themed costume. Now, this can mean anything you think it means...your best "Alien" costume, or you best color coded costume....whatever you think looks great, and is suitably kheldian.

After it's over, we'll give the winner a prize (one winner, sorry folks--and only those who are part of the tf team can apply) and pat them on the back, since your own powers obscure your wonderful costume.

One more week! I hope everyone has their knockback toons prepped for the final event, and their costumes ready on their level 50 characters (so that you can immediately run the MoSTF afterwards with us)!

If you don't have a knockback character as of yet, but you really want to make one for that last event and just can't see yourself getting a high enough level with it, contact me either here or in-game and we can work something out.

Question-- I might have overlooked where this was mentioned but you seem to have the all Kheldian TF scheduled for Sunday. Is this going to be in addition to the special edition of Kheld Friday?

yes there will be TWO all kheld tfs during this event! The normal one on friday that has a costume contest added to it and then another on sunday

Woo, so I can bring Lumi for one and Sep for the other. Kheldians are taking over Protector.

heh, Lumi is two bars from 50 so he will be coming along for at least one to finish his xp earning off.

Two* more days, people! Take a look at your characters and see who needs the Croatoa/Moonfire (Slayer/Silver Bullet) badges, get your khelds prepared for Lady Grey, etc etc.

Well, our first night went pretty well, I think! We had two full Katie Hannon teams, and only ran into a spot of trouble during the AV section for one team. We then went GM hunting (though my team could only get Jacks badge, as Jack had punched pumpkinhead one to many times

Then, my team went and ran a special edition of Kheldian Fridays! This time, it was 7 warshades and one lonely peacebringer. We teased him a lot.


Meanwhile, Layla's team went ahead and ran the Moonfire, and it went smoothly. By the time we were done with our Kheldian costume contest, we were both ready to go hunting for the Volcanic badge. It took several trips through Ouroborous, but we all nabbed ourselves a shiny new Volcanic badge.

I'm so tired, today was a long day

We started with some hide and seeks! @Exercitus found Layla, but no one looked for me I was hiding in plain sight at the entrance of Eden, too.

Then we ran a MoKahn, and it was successful!



Afterwards some more hide and seeks! I hid in Atlas, and again nobody found me. Frustrating. @Alber found Layla.

We then ran a MoLGTF! We had to split up our teams because so many people wanted to join, and unfortunately both teams failed. We all had a great time though, I think!



Afterwards, yet another hide and seek. I changed tactics this time, offering a special bounty for the person that managed to find both of us. Sure enough, @Metalicon hunted both myself and Layla down, and earned double the reward. This plan worked! Next up, was the MoITF. We had THREE teams worth of people show up! I divided us up and hoped for the best...my team unfortunately had a death RIGHT before the taskforce was over. Like literally 1 more Rommie death to go. Layla's team was much more fortunate, and they scored the Master badge. The third team broke off from our league, and I don't know what happened to them. I can only assume they had an unfortunate early death.




Next up, yet again more hide and seek! Now that I knew what the people wanted, I hid in Brickstown with Layla, with a smile on my face. Come get your double reward folks! @Alber managed to find layla relatively quickly, but it took several minutes for her to track me down. However, when she did, 2 other people also homed in on me. I was impressed that so many people found me, and happy my new plan was working, so for this round everyone was a winner!

Next up was the Master of Apex. At first I thought we would only have one team, but then BAM we had two. Our team was sucessful despite a severe lack of buffs/debuffs of any kind



Afterwards was one last hide and seek. @Alber was out to get us, with a vengeance! She caught both me and Layla yet again, this time in Talos. I swear she has hax or some kind of lowjack she planted in our clothing. So, double reward for Alber, again!

Finally, the cornerstone of the event, the Layla & Stone costume contest! We unfortunately didn't have too many people show up, but the ones that did had very nice costumes!

Here were the Laylas! And the Stone! And the funny costume category!

Sassy Fine Lay Time won first place with her eldritch looking Layla costume, Irene Innomia (@Alber) won second place with her "Heroic Layla" costume, and Magma Imp won third for nailing a classic layla costume.

For the Stone category, @DJKyo won hands down as the only entry (but what a good entry it was!). I awarded her the prizes for first, second, and third places

And for the "Make Layla Laugh" category, the winner could only go to @Zit Poppin' Pete for his "Stone Rei" costume, which is apparently the love child of Layla and I.

Afterwards, Layla and I were starting to get exhausted from the long day (and to this point I still haven't eaten anything since breakfast! ), so upon seeing no one else at the ship in IP, we promptly formed a team with the people who followed us from the CC and off we went! Due to an unfortunate bug (and relaxed tensions) Dr. Aeon surprised us with invulnerability and crushed some of the squishier people on our team. No master badge for us. We still had a good time though



@Drake Crator started a second team after hearing that we'd already started, however, and decided he wasn't going to let us win. And sure enough, he pulled through with the master badge for his team. Good job guys!
