Try using another keyboard if possible; if it's still an issue means it's with the game and not the keyboard.

Have you checked that it isn't your CAP-LOCK, SCROLL-LOCK or more likely NUM-LOCK settings - shouldn't affect a stand alone delete key but will if it is the one on the numpad.
May also be worth checking your language settings and whether your keyboard is recognised correctly in Windows.

It's not bound to anything, although that shouldn't make a difference when a text field has focus. I'm using an old keyboard, a Dell AT101W.
