Performance issues with Praetoria

I've been having huge problems with Praetoria lately. I virtually cannot play any character there. The game keeps freezing for several seconds at worst at frequent intervals. It happens all the time, everywhere, both outside in the city as well as in mission maps.

Strangely it's the only place where this happens. Another issue I have is that the game keeps freezing rather too frequently, but when it happens, it freezes completely. In the problem I described above, the game runs all the time, but everything just freezes for 1-3 seconds about every 5 seconds or so.

I think it didn't happen before I installed my latest ATI drivers. Is there anything else to be done than installing older drivers? How about the other issue where the game freezes completely?

Note: sometimes the game runs very slowly even in the character select screen if a Praetoria character is selected. However when I click "delete character" it runs alright for as long as the text field is open.

I had the same issues with the game freezing every few seconds, using the 11.5 and 11.6 ATI drivers.

I read on the forums here to try the 11.2 or .3 drivers (I chose the 11.2) and I can report that fixed my problem.

Additionally, Praetoria was the first zone to be optimized for the new ultra video settings, so it's a lot more demanding on your card than the old zones. I have a pair of 5870's in crossfire, and it still lags a bit for me. *shrug*
