I know it'll never happen, but... Origins!

I like the villainside one because it's a nice easy XP boost at level 12. I utterly despise most of the dialog though. I'm not usually one to get my hackles up about redside treating villains like schmucks, but Origin of Power (and later the actual Midnighter arc for that matter) does quite badly.

Once I get enough free Paragon Point saved up, or I'm able to stop boycotting the Paragon Store and just buy some more, I'll get started on more VEAT arcs in some new AE slots. (Actually, that would be pretty hilariously awesome if someone paid me the arc slots to do it. Not that I have that much personal confidence in my writing that someone would. )

I actually don't hate the whole "all powers are connected" concept, because it's the same kind of broad universal constructs I tend to sprinkle into my own stories and it is backed up by existing canon, both Web of Arachnos and the Incarnate System. But I do hate the fact that Statesman is inexplicably giving a clunky speech on it (instead of Dr. Brainstorm himself or even Positron), and that it's ultimately a stale reference to the Issue the mission came out in rather than anything fun or interesting.

The Origin of Powers arc, though it has some good writing in places (mostly surrounding Oranbega, the only non-stupid plot point of the arc), is still complete garbage, and the contacts pretty much make a point to let you know it's garbage. War Witch and Virgil Tarikoss contradict each other, Sister Psyche contradicts herself and Positron no longer shows up in the hero-side arc. It's a load of wrong nonsense the only purpose of which was to explain... What was it supposed to explain, actually? Incarnates? In I12?

On a more meta level, giving people the ability to write the origin of their own powers by hand and going "WRONG! Your name is JC Denton!" five years after the fact is just a great big dick move. It's unnecessary, it's convoluted, it's restricting, and all for what? So we could have the Pool or Radiance which is an even WORSE plot device? Ugh...
