It's good. As for pros/cons, there's all the psi-resistant enemies of course, and naturally fire does more damage as always. And it has Drain Psyche instead of a damage boosting power, which is both pro- and con-; yeah, you don't have a damage booster, but it's Drain Psyche!

Im going with soul masteryfor my epic, will that make up for it? and do you know if its possible to perma soul drain?

I was plant/psi/soul for a while before I swapped to plant/fire/ice and later plant/fire/fire.
Soul Drain is a fun ability, but it won't get particularly close to perma. It combos nicely with Drain Psyche and Psychic Shockwave since you were likely spending a lot of time in melee range anyway with that set.
I would guess that Sleet is probably going to be a bigger damage increase for you in most cases though.
Is plant Psi still good in general? What are it's Pros and Cons Vs plant/fire or plant Thorn
