Kat/SR, build help
Any suggestions to make this more group friendly? |
There isn't really much more you can do to make a scrapper more group friendly. They are the most solo oriented AT pretty much by design. Leadership is about the only power pool that will benefit the rest of the team while not gimping your damage output somehow.
I suppose you could take and slot Aid Other, but trying to turn a scrapper into a healer just seems kinda dumb.
I can't look at the build because my work computer doesn't have Mids, but that's my input for what it's worth.

A Scrapper's role on a team is to do damage and stay alive. Super Reflexes gives you enough survivability on its own, although some people like Aid Self or high regeneration from set bonuses. To do as much damage as possible, you should try to use the top attack chain. I don't remember what the top attack chain for Katana is. I would think it would be Golden Dragon -> Soaring Dragonfly -> Gambler's Cut, but I could be wrong.
A Tanker I know is trying desperately to get his healing badge(s?) for, well, no real reason. It's really quite ridiculous to see in action, with the comedy only enhanced by his using only the default slot to avoid gimping his build in any way. I forget what it heals for. Is it less than 200 points? Dude, you're a Tanker, not a healer. And I'm a Scrapper, not a buffer. But hey, I still like Leadership. And Barrier is a really nice buff too.
Slotting Tough might be worthwhile to help you survive. Staying alive and continuing to do damage is team friendly.
Top chain is Golden Dragonfly -> Gambler's Cut -> Soaring Dragon -> Gambler's Cut with the Achilles' Heal in Gambler's Cut and the Fury of the Gladiator in Golden Dragonfly. The build is fast enough for that.

In my opinion, one of the best ways to get the healing badges on a melee character without playing a specific way is to get the Rebirth incarnate buff. It's useful even just for yourself, and as you team you will inevitably hit other people with it. My brute is already 65% through the first healing badge, and I got the buff 2 weeks ago I think.
Oh, and I also have Leadership on all my melee alts. And I hug people for Grant Cover when I'm on a Shield and there's no AoE splash. But I'm ok, I can stop it, whenever I want.
... Maybe tomorrow.
I got some of the healing badges on a MA/Regen with Aid Other back around i7. It was surprisingly useful on small teams. However, I really would not recommend it for anything other than Concept or RP builds.
Any suggestions to make this more group friendly?
