Rad/Sonic build help
If you respec, fitness will go inherent, so that opens up 3 more power choices for things like travel powers and Recall Friend.
Also, I wouldn't 3slot Health. You have a heal! Stick a slot in Tactics with an EndRdx. Most of your other powers you could probably remove either a RechRdx or EndRdx to free up slots, if you needed more slots in whatever else you pick.
Otherwise I guess that's an alright non-set setup.
That's a good starting build, especially so considering that you're a new player!
Skip Siren's Song and get Howl, preferrably where you have Mutation now. The -resistance from it will help team take down groups faster, together with the damage you add with it while a short range sleep won't help much at all.
Mutation can only be used if a teammate is already dead, meaning you get a decent endurance discount through the Defender inherent Vigilance - I prefer putting a recharge in that power if I take it at all.
EMP is a very long hold as it is, the two slots for hold duration might be overkill compared to end cost.
Tactics will need more end cost reduction, the Leadership pool toggles are a bit expensive. I prefer two end cost reducers in them myself.
With the inherent Fitness freespecs, you can fit in Super speed at a fairly early level if you want to. While travelling has become a non-issue in the game, some like to have a travel power. My main since more than six years has gotten around just fine with Sprint alone, but the stealth from Super Speed can be helpful. Also, grabbing something like Combat Jumping to get some immobilization resistance can be handy.
Thanks for the replies. I made some of the tweaks in the areas you mentioned. When you say inherent fitness freespec do you mean I get a free respec at 20? Are there any other respecs I get in case I want to change things around?

They awarded several free respecs recently, since Fitness went from being a selectable power pool to an inherent. I don't know how that has affected inactive accounts, if yours was recently activated, but try the /respec command to see if you have a token available.
The build looks pretty good in my opinion, although Tactics is probably supposed to hold end cost reducers instead of recharge. It's a good starting build for someone trying out radiation, I'm sure you'll get some ideas along the way on how you want your character to perform once you introduce inventions and get comfortable with them.
Four recharge in Lingering Radiation is a bit much, since ED will hit the fourth very hard. Change it to an end cost reducer, perhaps. I'd also change the end cost i Dreadful wail to a recharge, it's on a very slow timer.
Welcome back to the game, and have fun!
Thanks. You are correct on the endurance vs recharge. Clicked the wrong things. I do have a /respec according to the game so I will try it out.
Here is my 2 cents on the build:
(1) Tactics should have Endurance Reduction instead of Recharge. That is because Tactics is a toggle that stays on; you won't be frequently clicking it.
(2) You should take Temp Invulnerability. This is a toggle that you will keep on and will help your survival.
Hi all. New player here. I dabbled a little when the game was released, but couldn't get into it. I've come back and found I am enjoying myself with the game. With that said I am very green. I don't know much of the acronyms, not much about IO stuff, or the complexities of the game in general, but hey I'm having fun.
I did a lot of research and found I wanted to try defender. My Rad/Sonic is at 21 and I can really see the difference he can bring to a team. Once those toggles drop from someone killing the anchor or me getting help you can really tell by the incoming damage increase. My main design is to be team oriented. Not a big fan of solo at the moment so I am looking for a more team oriented build.
Anyway, I was wondering if I could get some help with this build and some critique. As I stated I did a lot of research, but everything seems to have a lot of IO stuff or huge amounts of money poured into it as if everyone playing this game has been here for years and has a gazillion IF. I don't have much IF and am still learning IO stuff anyway, so if you can keep that in mind when laying into me I would appreciate it. Thanks for the help.
