Defense item limit :(

So if they've basically made base-PvP (theoretically) opt-in, thus negating the need for pathing to be kept clear, etc, why is there still a per-room limit on defense items for non-PvP bases?

Because there are those who still hope for the return of base raids... someday.

Also, base-PvP was never really optional. Initially, raid rules applied to all bases, whether the group intended to participate in raids or not. At this time, some of those rules have been disabled, but that does not necessarily make non-PvP an "opt-in".

Creating an optional non-PvP base system is an idea that has been bandied about over the years. If it ever comes to fruition, perhaps they will relax the room restrictions then.
