CoH not running

Hey, i just downloaded the free 7 day trial of CoH, i installed it and after about 6 hours the game opended, i didnt have a chance to put in my log in details so i closed the game, a few hours later i decided i wanted to play, i couldnt find the CoH application only the CoH updater so i clicked on that and it says at the bottom 'Fixing files' etc...

It said it would take around 10hours for the download to be complete, will i have to run this everytime i want to play the game? i cant find any other applications to run CoH apart from the updater one..please help if anyone cane

Ok thanks, i thought i had done something wrong so i deleted all the files and re downloaded them, gonna take another 5hours until its complete i just hope it works lol, im planning to buy a subscription i just dont want to buy the sub and then not have the game work or have to wait 7hours to play the game

Im not sure if this will help but i will add it anyway, im using Windows 7, on my old laptop i used windows XP and i downloaded the US version of CoH, i live in the UK so this time i downloaded the EU version. Thats all i can think of at the moment so if i think of anything else will add it in here

i really dont know whats happened, the download was going fine it say there ws about 4.30hours remaining and i just checked again it now it says 904083:40:30 remaining, any ideas of what i should do? im just getting bored of waiting to play this game..WoW was so much easier to download lol

Is it applying or still downloading? It downloads the patch then it applies it.

Also when you say you closed the game do you mean that you hit the exit button or that you just closed down the window? Any time you exit from the game other than the intended way which is backing all the way out to the starting screen and hitting exit or choosing the quit to desktop option the game will check and fix all files before loading again.

Also there is only one download server for the game so when a new update patch comes out downloading slows to a crawl and it's never all that fast to begin with.

Lastly the US and EU versions of the game are identical. The only real difference is that the two executables are named cohupdater.exe and cityofheroes.exe in the US versions and cohupdater.eu.exe and cityofheroes.eu.exe in the EU version.

Im not really sure, it just said fixing file (then it gave the name of the files) it didnt budge for an hour so ive decided to give it on more go and see if i can finally get it to work lol

The first time i closed the game i closed it using the taskbar as i had WoW open aswell so didnt want to slow my laptop down.
Ive played this game before on my old laptop twice and i always used to close it down the proper way so i guess i did it wrong this time.

When i download anything it always asks me to run as administrator so i dont think thats the problem, sorry im no good at computer stuff on windows 7 lol im so used to XP.

Just checked my email, i signed up for the europe account

I finally got it to work..yay lol

Anyway now i have another problem, i dont want to play on the rogue server i just want to play on the original server, how do i do this? there is only 4 servers to choose from where as i remember there was a whole list of them to choose from last time, i dont fancy paying £30 just for the rogue game and then have to pay another £10 a month..
