Trying a Plant/Earth - build feedback please
I recently returned to CoH after a year and the first character I made was a plant control/Earth Assault Dominator (called Geoflora) based solely on theme without concern as to how well it functions as a build (only level 18 at the moment so theres not much I can say). So far I have not had any agro problems but I think thats more a question of personal play style then character abilities. I tend to treat earth assault as a kind of secondary crowd control and not as a form of dps.
On an old plant/storm summoning controller build (which I got into the 40s) I found entangle to be of limited use (eventually doing away with it) and found spore burst to be problematic as all too often thoughtless trigger-happy blasters would throw aoe powers and wake everything up instead of taking full advantage of the mass sleep effect.
Thanks for the reply. I find the sleep powers mostly junk when teaming because of things like you mention. They are awesome solo and also a great set mule for a cheap Purple set.
I love the smash of Earth Assault and I was building for defense to get into melee and use the big hitters and AoEs. Entangle is largely a set mule for some nice S/L defense in that build.
Anyway, thanks for the feedback and your experience. I like the Plant/Earth theme as well and do find the toon fun to play.
Cheers

Hey All,
I am currently running a Plant/Earth lowbie and I really like it so far and am looking forward to seeing it mature. Feels pretty strong even just in the low teens with Seeds, Roots and Tremor. It's more aggro than I can handle most times so I need to be careful.
I chose /Earth over Thorns because I have a 50 Spines scrapper and they look nearly identical as damage sets. I don't see a lot of talk in the forums about the combo and haven't seen one in game. Did I miss something that makes the combo gimp or otherwise crappy? It really fit a theme I was going for and I like it a lot.
It would be for me to use with my team of 4-6 regular and we 99% are PvE. I was going for Perma-dom and high defense so I can stay in melee and mix it up.
I am designing a build plan for it, since it looks like I will follow through with him. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Cheers
