Well, I would think. I mean, we have an alien-Kheldian hybrid, an alien who doubles as an electrical generator, a Hell's Angel only from the other team, a medieval swordfighter, a... radioactive... something, and a Hippie!

And I know how much fun hippies are to RP!

Oh, 1 more thing I thought would be fun (or just funny) for the static team's overall concept: We cannot ignore anyone being mugged or terrorized on the streets (to and from our missions), no matter how many lvls we are above the group of enemies.

Uuuummmm...

as fun as that may seem in *concept*, in practice i don't really want to stop every 50 feet to beat a grey con. my time is limited and precious.

and the JLA generally has more important, immediate world-shattering missions to attend to and can leave the purse snatching to the up-and-coming heroes. hey, ya gotta prioritize.

my .02.

I support this notion. Street-crime is terrible, but we do have a police department, and our fellow heroes will doubtless appreciate our sharing the streets, as it were.

oh fine *pout*

Ok I just figured as heroes, we would want to stop all kinds of crime. And, btw, right now we are the "up and coming" heroes. So there.

So we won't clean up the street crimes that are below our lvl, but we surely can fight baddies that are at least conning blue to us?

we certainly do want to stop many different kinds of crimes, and we're already planning on hitting the sewers tonight and what not.

i'm fine with the occasional street sweep during the low levels, but i don't really want an expectation of sweeping from mission to mission. that'll take a lot of time. missions can sometimes be a mile away, or in another zone. not to mention that often team members have different ideas about how best to get to a mission, we have different travel powers, some people want to sell or take care of salvage storage. we're not always together between missions.

personally, i prefer to spend most of my time in missions and doing content. but that's not to say i won't occasionally try and clean up an area around the mission door while i'm waiting for the team to gather.

i'm more inclined to let things flow naturally than try and make it a rule.

Well, that seems like a better idea than I originally had ...

i'm sure there'll be lots of sweeping tonight. =) i'd love to make it to KR.

there're so many things I've never done in this game. I've heard there's a GM in the sewer. is that true?

i'm really excited about tonight and getting to know everyone!

hey, here's an important question: why're we meeting? =) who or what is bringing us together, philly?

We're meeting because we all have a desire to clean up this city of Paragon. We found out about each other through the city's Hero Registration Board. Whatsherface (the city hall rep lady) gave us all the head's up on each other and arranged a blind meeting under Atlas for tonight at 8pm EST. Or we could all meet inside city hall, your choice. (I know, flimsy premise there but I really didn't think about that. If anyone has a better idea please don't hesitate to speak up)

Bio's are not necessary tonight, as I know some people work on their backstory over time. All we need in the char bio section is a secret identity. The bio's will come in time. (you can read that as me saying I don't have a char bio yet lol)

ok. i'm thinking, Unaitus arrives here in, say 2007. He spends a few years trying to acclimate to his new life on Earth, learning the language and culture.

He eventually gets a job at a power plant with his new earth identity and now, feeling settled yet seeing the need on the battlefield of Paragon, decides it's time to start giving back a little more. he decides to sign up as a registered hero.

Looking over the paperwork he notices a checkbox. "Would you like to be matched to a team? The team selection process is very thorough and designed to match compatibility over 100 parameters to ensure an optimal and complimentary fit."

Knowing that a warrior is only as good as the squad he fights with, he checks... Y.

Ke'ros has been in a stasis pod for 12 years buried deep in Faultline , but the recent Ritki attack there uncovered his pod . Doc Delilah discovers his location while providing protection for the humans living in Faultline in a nearby cave . The resulting battle activates the statis pod and Ke'ros awakens . Unaware of his surroundings he nearly attacks Doc Delilah , but reading her mind , realized she was not a threat and joined her and Agent G in pushing back the Ritki to their homeworld . The rest of the story is a work in process ....

Wow, mine is weak compared to those 2 already lol. Well, you'll see him in game and decide for yourselves.

Re-rolling GB on my main acct right now. I need those vet rewards lol

Tram, we're in the sewers. Send a tell to Gleaming Bolt when you log in

Well, that was awesome, and y'all were awesome.

Also, I think before we come up with a Supergroup name, we should figure out what our actual theme and mission is.

Good call. We can discuss it and have a vote on it.

Had a ton of fun with everyone . I think the whole JLA theme fits well , a group of heroes coming together to take on threats bigger than normal humans can handle .

I'd kind of like something a bit more than that. Some sort of unifying theme. A calling, or a particular set of circumstances, or some common event in our backstories, or some common enemy... something. If only because there's five billion SGs out there that are just generic "Many different heroes come together to Fight Crime!" as their theme.

ETA: Also, we should figure out stuff like, what origin are we predominantly, what themes does the makeup of our characters really suggest? If nothing else, we ought to figure out such a theme if only so we can link our concepts to (if we intend to build one) a base.

... Not that I've put a lot of thought into this sort of thing. Not at all. >.> <.<

Hmm, really Tram? It sure looks like you haven't been thinking about this at all I'd never guess you had a second thought at all. *snickers*

Well, with the aliens on the team, we could probably easily link everyone's past to the Rikti somehow. As for GB's origin, his suit is what gives him his powers, and it was sent to him from an alien life form. Maybe it can be from someone who is also at war with the Rikti? idk ... We'll see how everyone else feels about the Rikti backstory linking us all together.

We can start up an SG as soon as we come up with a name we can all agree on. Let's send some names to each other through PM's here (to avoid anyone not in the group stealing the name we want)

i actually like the simplicity of GB's story, Philly. it has a certain classic feel to it. a feel i, too, was trying to capture in my Zod/Superman inspired bg.

well, my only concern about going the alien route is that, what about the non-aliens among us? i wouldn't want them to feel left out.

i was actually surprised by how many of us were aliens. =) it's like the Galactic Congress over here.

it was an awesome first night, everyone! i look forward to next week! so are we planning to do the whole Hollows mission tree? i'd like to. i've never completed the whole thing.
