Menu/Loading Bar Issue

Hello! I recently reactivated, and installed/patched, quite excited to get back to my lovely Controller. Everything seemed to be going smoothly, until I noticed a minor oddity at the login screen. The input boxes are, for lack of a better word, broken. The corners are just not present, and this persisted as I went through adjusting my graphics options.
It appears as though I have the top, bottom, and sides of all menu boxes in-game, but no corners, and anything with a slider bar, or loading bar is simply missing. When I pulled up the costume selector, those boxes were also black.
This doesn't render the game unplayable, by any means, but it is rather irritating to navigate. As I have not found any other reports of a similar issue, outside of the standard "Intel integrated graphics have lots of problems" complaint, I figured I'd give it a shot, and see if there was anything I could do to rectify this.
I have tried uninstalling my OEM drivers, and replacing them with the updated ones for my chipset from the Intel website, but it did not appear to change anything.
Included below are my CoH Helper data, and a screenshot for a visual reference. Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

To enable safe mode, in the updater when you get to the TOS screen but before clicking Accept, select the Safe Mode check box. This will force the game to run at minimum graphics.

You can also try the -useTexEnvCombine switch and see if that helps.

1. Right click on your CoH shortcut
2. Click on Properties
3. Click on Shortcut tab at top
4. Go to Target window which should show: "C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe"
5. After the last " press space once
6. Enter the following code exactly: -useTexEnvCombine
7. Click on Compatibility tab and make sure the Run as Administrator checkbox is selected
8. Click Apply and then Ok

It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.

Thank you for your response!

Sadly, I have tried both now, to no avail..
So difficult to adjust to figuring out where you're going without map indicators! Been gone too long, I suppose.

Hm. Have you tried fiddling with the color and transparency settings of your UI? Maybe it's just the screenshot but they look very transparent (or at least the bits that do show up). Perhaps a bit of twiddling there would make things show up properly. A bit of a left field idea but it just occurred to me.

You're right, I do like it to be pretty transparent!
But, as you can see.. I don't think that's what's causing it either. =/

Edit: Curious, as it seems to be only PARTS of the UI that are wonky. The borders, obviously, as I can't even change the opacity on those, they seem to be pretty much unaffected by moving around the given opacity slider. Or, yanno. Lack of a slider.

Hm. Yes. That does pose a problem. Ok, have you tried running the game in safe mode? That should force everything to minimum graphics and maybe will reset the opacity slider too. Not certain about that bit but, maybe?

Or, peering at the screenshot, there is that 'Set to Defaults' button there that might do something helpful.

Safe Mode was the very first stop, no dice there.

And the defaults set it up with recommended graphics.. so it's both sluggish, and missing pieces.

Thank you for all your suggestions, but it seems like I'll just have to live with it!

Well you could try contacting Support. They might have a fix. You may not be the only one out there with this issue and it's certainly a bug that should be looked into.

I have actually the same problem and even after updating my graphics driver still no fix. It's very frustrating because its a guessing game to scroll down on anything.
