Travel Powers and other issues

I have a now level 43 character (was 41 when issue 17 came out) that has fly and hover as travel powers. I normally slot fly with 3 slots and use single origins enhancements. That usually gives me around 103 mph flight speed. But since i17 came out my speed has dropped to 90 mph. After going up a couple of levels and buying new enhancements my flight speed has barely even moved a notch. 90.70 I think it is now. I know that it's not going to move alot but something is wrong for it to have dropped to begin with.

I also have the 30 day jetpack from ncsoft store which normally has a speed of around 70 mph I think and also my temp jet packs which have the same speed. After issue 17 they are now around 53 mph. This has affected all of my characters on my account and my spouses as well. So I was wonderering if anybody else has noticed anything like this.

I have sent in a ticket through the support part of the forum and the people said they will look into it, but the ticket says closed now after i sent in some updated information. Does this mean I have to make a new ticket or does it mean they are still looking into it.

On a side note I have also noticed still as mentioned by some in others threads screen blinking, as when I maybe bring up my personal menu and check on badges, when i scroll the list all menus on screen will blink on and off for a second.

And in wentworths I have found while searching out various things such as temp powers, for example jetpack or grenade will have 4 or 5 listings names for that power, and when you hover your cursor over them no info pops up like normal. I was however to get a menu to pop up a couple of times but it had info for another power all together. I hovered over one of the few grenade listings and the info box told me it was a healing power.

I'm not complaining or making a rant here, just curious if anyone has noticed these problems, and also wondering if I should send in a new ticket about travel powers.

I know there is still alot of little things to iron out and it takes time so I'm not ready to fly off the handle (yet ), it's just that my flight power is very important to me. And I do understand that there is still alot of things going on and fixing them and such.

so any feedback or help is appreciated

And I still think this game is great

Hi, kagurako!

I'm betting you're checking your speed by right-clicking on the fly/hover icons under your health bar. Unfortunately, the info in those icons are bugged. It's been cataloged by the player-run Wiki at this link:

Flight Speed is capped at 58.63 mph. You'll never fly faster than that. See here: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Travel_Powers. There is a place where you can monitor your REAL speed in the Combat Attributes window. You can get there by clicking on Powers over your powers tray. And then at the top of the Powers window, click on Combat Attributes. And then, if you want, right click on an attribute to have just those attributes stay popped up in a mini-window so that you can monitor those stats as you play.

You may want to download and use Mid's Hero & Villain Planner which will also give you accurate values for speed as you test out various types of enhancements.

Check out these threads:





Then post the results of these two programs:


  • CoH Helper - it will show us basic computer settings and your CoH configuration.
  • HijackThis - it will show us what's running on your computer concurrently with CoH. Click on "Do a system Scan and save a logfile." It will automatically open up Notepad and put the info there. Make sure Wordwrap is off in Notepad (Format > Wordwrap unchecked) before you cut and paste here.


This will help us diagnose what wrong.

Thats how I was keeping tabs on the speed, so the link really helped alot. Makes sense now so I guess theres nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the help and the links. As far as the drivers and stuff goes every things up to date. I have a few high end systems I work with so I'm pretty familiar with tweaking stuff out as far as graphics and the like goes. The blinking is not really something I'm worried about, more curious than anything.

Once again thanks for the help though, it's very much appreciated. It's nice to see a board where every ones not a complete *** 24/7. This is the only online game I've ever played with the exception of land of the dead (did some very heavy modding for that game with others and turned it into a great zombie game) and a really weird game called flyff some one got me to try. Big mistake with that one lol.
