Mercenaries, Slotting, & Confusing the Hell out of myself!
The way IO's work is that they give you dimishing returns, so it is rarely worthwhile slotting 3 of anything, you get full benefit from the 1st, slightly less from the 2nd and hardly any from the 3rd.
Not sure what you are seeing in combat attributes, because tohit and accuracy are actually different, the thing I monitor is the Last Hit Chance, since that lets you know how all your accuracy and tohit are working together. You wont see anything in combat attributes for any of the slotting you give to your pets aside from the pet uniques.
The sets however are well worth it, not only do they give good set bonus', but a dual effect IO (Like an acc/dam) actually gives a greater % increase than just a single effect, so 2 acc/dam's are better than 1 acc + 1 dam.

I didnt see Last Hit Chance. However, it doese appear to me that Accuracy are not needed in Henchmen at all. It seems they may not even need the full 6 slots unless I put Uniques or DefDeb etc in their They all had 95% chance to hit this was fighting Yellows. I guess I need to try them out against some Oranges, & check the Pet Combat logs again. & then should have a good idea on slotting them
When you start going past +2 levels the base accuracy starts dropping, and that is when you will notice the slotting.
If you never plan on doing that you won't need so much.

I`ve been playing Merc/Thermal & having one Fun time with it. Now I have read severeal of the Guides for slotting Mercs, & started veiwing the Combat Attributes. & this was a bad thing becuase I confused the hell out of myself. Some Guides said only slot one or two Accuracy into it, & 2 to 3 damage. Under the Combat Attributes window. The IO`s I put in only showed a 2% to 3% increase in To Hit Bonus. Mercs with IO`s had 88% to hit bonus vrs 86% To Hit Bonus without IO`s. So it seems to me the Accuracy IO`s seem to be a Waste. Is this Correct?
The IO`s were like a 25.6% increase to accuracy & I was using 2. As far as Damage IO`s go. There bonus doesent show at all under the Combat Attributes window. There still needed right? If not there alot of other things I can do with those slots. Should I keep the Damage IO`s, & skip the Accuracy?
Example:
Soldiers- 3 Damage, 2 Defensive Debuffs, 1 Heal(for the Medic)
Spec Ops- 3 Damage, 2 Defensive Debuffs, & 1 To Hit Debuff
Commando- No Clue
Are the Pet Damage sets pretty much worthless, except the Uniques? Just want to know the Optimal Build for each. I try to run two builds one thats team friendly. & the other one I have fun with ^^. Thanks for any Help you can give me.
