Bots/Traps PvE/PvP Build.
Roman, I demand that you PL my emp or dom on freedom, nao.
Thing about the defensive build is that you won't have damage. Main problem with MMs in PvP is their lack of mobility, meaning killing things is going to rely on your ability to somehow do the damage or keep them there. The defense build doesn't have the personal finishing power or pet power to do much, survivability could be very well, but at the cost of offense.
Resistance Build isn't really any better.
Bots/traps doesn't do well in pvp, /traps actually has very little effect except dropping them on heavy consoles or in pillboxes to be slightly annoying.
I have a bots/tarps, I like him, solo GMs and such, but PvP kinda makes me lul at 2 or 3 guiz attacking me and just laffing it off, while not being able to kill any of them.
Only way really that can improve it any is adding procs, which admittably the KB proc in bots is outstanding, it just can't make up the lack of mobility.
I have no actual experience of PvP on a Bots/Traps, but I have heard many people complaining that the only people you will ever kill are stupid scrappers who run straight at you through all your traps.
So the rest of the time most of the /Traps will be useless.
With that in mind I would make the best PvE build you can, and just make do in PvP rather than particularly speccing for it, since being able to survive and actually being able to fight effectively are very different.
British by act of union, English by grace of God, Northern by pure good fortune!

Also, in PvP, defense does almost nothing for you. Aim, buildup, heaven forbid someone uses soul drain... they all grant +tohit, which is a perfect counter to defense.
Just to put it in perspective, I've seen a /SR scrapper get hit three or four times in a row with elude running.
The smart ones will drop your protector bots first, then the rest of the bots and kill you while you resummon. The not smart ones will run through a bunch of seeker drones, trying to put a dent in you while your bots eat them alive. If you want a game of rock/paper/scissors where you're always the paper? Go for it. Otherwise, PvP's a waste on an MM.
Where to now?

Yea, I ran a Thugs/Pain for a while, but he got boring. This was just a spur of the moment idea honestly.
I'm bored with my blaster and stalker, so I was going to try something new.
Thanks for the advice guys.
Hello fellow Masterminds, I'm going to be making my Bots/Traps MM soon for PvP and alot of PvE content as well.
I have two builds to choose from, and I'm having a hard time deciding between them.
Both of the builds are expensive so I will only be choosing one of them.
The first build I have has a bit less recharge, but it has Dark Embrace, which will give me around 35% resistance to all in PvP after DR. I have Phase Shift on both builds as it will help tremendously with survivability.
For PvE, the first build has low Melee and S/L defense but it will have capped Ranged and AoE with the Prot bots bubble.
Build 1:
Now, on to the second build. I have more global recharge, and I have scorpion shield instead of dark embrace. In PvP, with the prot bots bubble I will have near 40-43% Defense after DR to S/L and about 60%+ in PvE, meaning some defense debuffs can get through and they won't affect me much.
Here is the Build 2:
I want to thank anyone who gives me feedback about these builds. Any modifications are welcome, but I'm generally going to stick with the pools and powers I currently have.
