"New Forums" Icon Guide
It's quite simple, really. They're basically "new post" indicators (as if the bolded text wasn't enough of a giveaway).
The red evenloped-threads are "hot" threads, which mean they see a lot of activity, or have many replies in a short amount of time... or something like that. I personally don't care too much for them.

as Ood Sigma said....We will sing to you, Doctor. The universe will sing you to your sleep. This song is ending. But the story never ends.
Thanks a bunch! I'm pretty sure I'll get the hang of the rest of 'em.
Hi Virtue, I was curious about the new "icons" the forum uses to direct players to threads. I'm talking about the Enevelopes (typically) placed next to the thread in various colors or with different "details".
I've scrolled over the small image to see if it gives some sort of detail but have got nothing most of the time. However, I've learned what a few of them mean.
Can anyone tell me what all (or most) of the Envelopes mean to help me better navigate these forums. It's not that the last incarnation of the forums was better, but we were all clearly more used to it and, in time, will become the same way with these. I myself know that I'm not alone in looking at the new forums and thinking "Ugh, this is weird...wait, where am I? What's that mean?" and so on.
Thanks for any help! I'm sure I won't be the only one who appreciates it.
