I recently bought a HP Mini 2133 laptop with 2GB ram, which employs a 256mb S3 VIA Chrome9 HC IGP graphic chip. I have tried playing ex. WoW and Eve Online on the maschine, without any discernable problems (Except of course minor performance issues you can expect from laptop platforms).
BUT! When I try to start up CoH/CoV it all goes fine until I come to the loginscreen. The entire screen is black except from contours of the login/password boxes. If I guess where the mouse points I can also type name/password and get to the character select screen and press enter game, after which the loading screen appears and after approx. 2 min. the laptop crashes.
I have tried updating the driver of the graphics card and chipset, but nothing helps.
I know U can't expect to much from a laptop, but I can play CoH just fine on my old laptop which has a slightly faster processor but lesser ram and only 64mb of graphic memory.

Sounds like you're missing OpenGL drivers for that chipset...
