A Proposal for your Consideration.
I could probably come up with some stupid reasons if you give me a minute...

1. They proved less popular than John Sergeant and were voted off by a public telephone poll.
2. Someone made them into jam.
3. They cause hearing problems in dolphins.
4. They couldn't get them past that awkward corner in the stairwell.
5. ITV came up with a better offer.
6. "You are Number 6." "Who's Number One?" "You are, Number 6."
I think it went something like:
D1: These Arenas will be a godsend to roleplayers. They'll love them.
D2: Yeah, we'll have to do something about that, Arenas are for PvP.
D3: I know, we'll ban emotes!
D2: Brilliant! They'll hate that.
D1: I think I'll go soak my head...

I want in. It will solve a conundrum I'm having re: Work/Life/Game balance. May I suggest a sensible evening of frivolity, such as Sunday, for this?
Oh and watch out for any of Col's characters, or Kanto2s - the procs are horrendous to fight against! That aside, if any team PvPRP is suggested I will start my own and bagsie them

Problem with arena events is that they disable emotes and you can't talk to anyone outside of the arena.

Yes, you're right - I'd forgotten about that. So, why is that? I'm having trouble understanding why it shouldn't at the very least be optional. With the Arena being the white elephant it is, you'd think someone amongst the devs would have an idea to release as many turn-offs from it as possible and encourage casual use of the feature, rather than continue to deter it.

The no-chat thing was supposedly to prevent cheating with people watching matches, not that it would make any difference really, what are they going to say? The emotes, no idea. I can't think of a single sensible reason why they should be disabled.
