Framerate problem

Hi
I've got a problem with my framerate going down below 1 FPS at times
my game doesn't crash so I'm not sure the hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953186 is the right one for me
Microsoft says that installing it when not needed can cause damage on the computer so I want to be 100% sure before I install it

it deffenetly started after I13 went on live servers, but I also think it was after X-Mas

I can play with good 30+ FPS for a while, then it drops to less then 1 FPS for a minute or two, then it runs fine again for a while

my specs are (copy 'n' pasting)
XPS M1730 CORE 2 DUO T9300 2.50GHz,800,6M
Ageia PhysX Processing Unit Card
4GB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x 2G)
Hard Drive 400GB Free Fall Sensor RAID 0 Stripe - 2 X 200GB (7200RPM)
DUAL SLI 512MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800GTX card
Vista Home Premium (32Bit OS)

my internet connection is a 12MBit down and 1MBit Up so it shouldn't be that
and it's not the heat, I've had this computer for a few months now and never had problems before
also I have a notebook cooler for it

I hope someone can help me

oh.. and another problem though not serious
CoX keeps dissabeling my graphics option "Enable Ageia PhysX"
it's getting a bit anoying having to enable it everytime I logon

CoH is known to not always play nice with SLi configurations, so try disabling it. Also, that Aegia card... Latest nVidia drivers include PhysX for the 8800 series cards, so that PhysX one MIGHT be clashing with the 8800 PhysX. Try removing it and see if that helps.

My computer is currently set to run CoH on a single GPU but I could try forcing it

didn't hear about the 8800 having built-in physics, I know Nvidia is making it but from what I've read it shouldn't be in the 8800 series
I could be wrong ofc, will read-up on it when I get time
