Game crashes

Hi. I just got a new laptop, and one of the first things I did was reactivate my CoH account. I haven't played in about 18 months but really wanted to get back into it.

My laptop has an onboard Sis Mirage 3 graphics and crashes everytime I try and load the game. Does anybody have ideas on what I can do? Is the graphics card easyily upgradaable on a laptop?

I've read that Mesa 3D can render the graphics thus making mine compamtible, I've downloaded it, but the instructions for the use of this are not clear at all.

Any help with this would be muchly appreciated I miss my little hero =(

Well, the chances of your laptop being able to play the game WELL are slim, but it should at least run it at minimum settings. Check the "Safe Mode" option on the launcher, after making sure your video drivers are fully updated. This will set the graphics settings to minimum for you.

Be aware, laptops are not really aimed at gaming (unless it's an expensive gaming laptop), and don't do well at it. Also, it's pretty much impossible to upgrade most laptop video cards as it's all on-board.

The sis graphics card is on the uncombatible list. It's frustrtating that the laptops specs are more than adequate to run the game, with 2gm ram 1.6ghz dual core processor, just the graphics card lets it down. I'll try in safe mode, thanks for the advice

Still crashes in safe mode. Any other suggestions? I've downloaded the latest drivers for the graphics. The crash error says it happened in SiSGlv.dll which is related to the graphics as far as I can tell.

Given that the graphics card is showed in the incompatible list, I'm afraid there's going to be very little you can do, sorry.
