CoH conflicts with Wincustomize
This is long known. Windowsblinds just doesn't like CoH, so you will have to add it to the exclusions list, or stop using it. Blame Stardock for <bleeping> with internal windows messages to do their trickery.
@FloatingFatMan
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
I messed about with that a long time ago, and hated it. Nothing worked correctly, pretty much every game I had needed to be excluded, and 3DS Max failed so hard it broke a few laws of physics. The clincher was that Steam didn't run with WB installed, exception or not. All that and it bogged my system down, just to get a pale imitation of Vista's transparent theme.
This is probably why I think Aero in Vista is the best thing since sliced bread, as it does everything Stardock set out to do, but gloriously better.
Trust me, uninstall this filth. If you want to customise your XP theme past the norm, I recommend this site. The themes are free, and use XP's standard windowing engine, so they won't bog your system down or interfere with anything. There are a few ways to install the themes, but I'd use this, as it's free and fairly easy to use.
Necrobond - 50 BS/Inv Scrapper made in I1
Rickar - 50 Bots/FF Mastermind
Anti-Muon - 42 Warshade
Ivory Sicarius - 45 Crab Spider
Aber ja, natrlich Hans nass ist, er steht unter einem Wasserfall.
Thanks FloatingFatMan and Necrotron. Long known,eh? Wish I'd known, heh heh.
Cheers for the link, Necrotron. Wincustomize has been duly dumped and I look forward to playing around with the themes at Belchfire (I admit to being a sucker for skinning).
Up up and away!
Hi all,
I have recently discovered the conflict with Stardock's Wincustomize. The conflict means I can update but cannot load the game. Obviously I've uninstalled Wincustomize now, but has anyone else come across this and found a solution to run both programs?
