Now to continue on)

An Impalpable Vengeance: Darkness Raising. (part 1)

Slowly Gemme appear on the teleporter pad, carrying the ruby shape device which held what was left of Sean, his own powers had finaaly taken over forcing him into a permement shadow form, his last bits of him fadeing away into nothing.
Gemme walked quickly off the pad and down to the door. "Coms, i need you to scan this device and see if theres a way to rig up a better power source to it, anything better than what it has now." Gemme said as the doors to the room opened letting her out into the hallway outside it.
"Of course miss Gemme, scanning, standby." COMS voice came over the internal comlines of the airship.
"Also, call H.Q. tell them i need a team of the best sent over here to paragon, i not going to be able to finish the machine without some help.. and Sean isn't in the helping state now." Gemme said as the hurried down the hallway and into the room labled 'Lab 2-Cargo 1'.

Inside the room lay spread out on the floor was the many boxes and parts of the machine, aswell as most of the sheets Gemme had found on it. She quickly sat the device down on the worktable, the light green beam of the scanner spread across it as COMS worked, the screen behind it showed the results, then the internal workings of the device.
"This device has been put together most quickly, i am unsure if it can work for more than a three week period, at most." COMS voice sounded out from the speakers at the screen.
"Well thats not good, i need you to try your best to extend that time limit, even if you have to built the damn device again, better this time COMS, it's why you have control over the mech arms in the lab now." Gemme said as she slipped off her Dark Red leather coat and put on the lab coat from the stand next to her, flicking up her hair as she did. "now, i got work to do.. where is sheet four got to.."
COMS normal static came over the speaker, as it did just before it went to talk, but then stopped as it's suddenly knew Gemme hadn't of asked it to tell her, instead it set about twisting the handle on the device with the machanical arms that unfolded down from the celling panels of the room.

Sean voice suddenly came out from the radio attached to the device "and pop goes the wea.. oh wait.. Gemme would kick me won't she?"
Gemme quickly glanced over her shoulder giving the device and Sean's Voice and evil look before going back to the sheets she was looking at.
"Huh, guess that means yes then, well Coms anychance of maybe going a little bit faster, and see if theres a way to rig the radio the doc hooked up to the main comlines, should be possible if you bypass the secoundary system and put the mic to the output of the radio.. with a small gap." Sean voice called out again, as the mechanical arms sped up a bit.
"Of Course Sean, anything else you can tell me on how to upgrade the device, as you wish it too?" Coms Voice came out from the speakers quickly, somewhat more happy than it did to Gemme.
"ermm.. not yet, but i'll see what i can think of, oh Gemme it's on your left.. under the box with the partical relays and central processor boards in it." Sean siad as the Camera on the device's front flickered.
"gah, thank you.. wait you sound.. more, normal now." Gemme said pulling out the sheet of paper from under the box on her left.
"Me normal? Gemme when will you ever learn.. im never normal.. im me.." Sean said from the device, his words slowly breaking up, then just coming to a stop.

"Sean, you.. SEAN!" Gemme turning around, looking at the device, which now was slient.

Sean called out but something was different, something wasn't right there was no reply, nothing but a small whisper, a voice sounding a far off in the distance, calling out his name, calling out for Sha'dower.
"Hello, whoes there?"
"I am, I am you."
"whoes you?"
"I be you, I am shadow."
"Shadow?"
"yes, shadow.. power, your power."
"impossible, my powers can't talk, they are just shadow."
"i am you, i am Shadow"
"Wait, shadow.. your.. my alter ego?"
"yess.. i am Shadow, i will be free."
""but you can't be, that part of me was destoryed, it's gone, and you can't be free.. we are the one person."
"No, i am here.. always, and now i can leave, go out, have my revenge on them."
"wait, Shadow.. Vengeance? on who?"
"on those who tried to rid me, on those of the light, those who claim the world now."
"but, thats not fair.. why?"
"because i can, Darkness shall come again, the world we be mine once again, rule with fear, rule with power, rule for all of time."
"Shadow, you can't.. they will stop you listen to me, your nothing but an echo in the darkness."
"i have your power, you gave me life, now i can come back, taken back, rule."
"Shadow, you mustn't they are my friends, the ones i care for.. you will be stopped."
"they can try, they will be no more, darkness is coming, i go now"
"Shadow! Wait! They will stop you, and if they don't I will!"

Nothing replyed, the darkness was slient again, yet Sean seemed weaker, less able to keep thinking, something was gone, Shadow was gone.

An Impalpable Vengeance: Darkness Raising. (part 2)

Gemme blinked at the device which held Sean, it had been a good ten minutes since he last spoke, which wasn't like him, She waited stareing at it, just to hear his voice again to know everything was going to be ok.
"Sean.. come on, don't scare me like this.. god damn answer me now!" Gemme said looking up at the monitor screen behind the device, it showed his energy was still there in the device, yet weaker than it was before.
Slowly the radio crackled as the static came over it's speaker "Gemm..e sor..ry so.. Tired.." Sean voice bearly came out over it.
"Sean, come on.. don't trick me, i know your fine.. you.. you.. always are." Gemme said, her face filled with sorrow and unable to think of what to do.
"Gem, it's.. gone.. shadow.. it's lose.. find.. it." Sean voice said, as it seemed to grow in strength once more.
"Shadow.. out.. what are you going on about?" Gemme asked grabbing hold of the device. "not you even think of leaving me, Sean, don't you leave me alone."
A single tear ran down her face, as she held onto the device, her normal deadly strict face, with it's half smile was replaced with a scared look.

"Gem, you must.. stop it.. find it.. before it's.. to late." Sean said again, as he voice seem more calm, and more like it was before he had became a shadow.
"Sean, i don't understand.. how could it get out.. it's you isn't it?" Gemme asked putting the device down again.
"yes, but it's like my other side, my alter ego.. where my power comes from.. the darkness witin." Sean said as Coms voice suddenly came over the comlink speakers.
"Miss Gemme, Sean did inform me of such an thing, i have records of it in the main database, wich me to bring them up for you?"
"Coms, oh.. yea thanks, also.. any lucky with maybe an upgrade for the device.. or someone who can help me with this mess." Gemme asked as she wiped the tears away, then straighten herself up.
"Yes, and yes.. and a few names, mostly they are from the hunters guild, but there is a few heroes in the city we are hovering over that have been known to know such things." Coms said over the internal speakers.
"Right give me a list, and i'll see what i can do.. anything that will help me find it?" Gemme asked going over to the coat stand and swapping her lab coat for the Dark Red leather jacket.
"Of course, i'll power the tranporter system, and have the GPS multi scanner there ready for you, it should have the range for Seans shadow energy." Coms voice spoke again over the speakers.
"Thanks coms, big help.. right Sean stay there.. and try not to be too much trouble.. remember your not quite there ok." Gemme winked as she left the room.
"oh yeah.. like im going anywhere Gem.. like i have a choice." Sean said, as she lefted. "Coms mind showing me the sheets.. i'll try to keep working on it while shes gone.. you be the arms, and i'll be the brains."

Gemme ran down the hallway back to the teleporter room, on her way she grabbed the device which would help her track down Shadow, even if she didn't full know what it was, or how it had got lose in the first place.

An Impalpable Vengeance: Shadow's Vengeance.

Slolwy the building's Shadow morphed and changed, as the now seperate energy of Sean took it under it's control, twisting it to it's own will, Morphing with it into a larger more darker form, the mist of shadows, something Sean used to move around with, used to change his form with, but now, Shadow used it.. for it's own vengeance.
Suddenly a pure black tentacle burst out from the mist and wraped itself around a nearby car, crushing it in two.
"yeess.. it's will do.. i have power.. more power.." Was all it said as the tentacle dropped to the ground.
Slowly the black mist form of Shadow moved off, leaving a trail of destoryed cars and bent lamp posts, each time it aborbed the items shadow before wrecking it.

Meanwhile, on the ASX49.

Gemme paced up and down looking at the monitor screen, wondering where the mist had gone, she had lost it in Atlas city area after a group of clockwork had blasted her with their electrical energy.
"Darn it, i wish you could scan quicker Coms, who knows what that thing will do." Gemme said as she stop walking, and lent on the keyboard for the monitor.
"Sorry Miss Gemme, but the scanners are working at full power, there is quite a large area to scan form here, would help if there was more aiding the scan." COMS voice came out from the Speakers.
"Yea Gem, don't blame the tools, it's the shadows fault.. and the clockwork bots." Said Sean's voice after COMS.
"Yes well if it wasn't for the fact it was lose i wouldn't have to track it down, and how was i meant to know those robotic things would blast me, in the first place." Gemme said drumming her fingers on the keybroad.
Suddenly the room stook, as a large black swirling portal appeared on the celling then without warning a bench flew out of narrowly missing Gemme, and crashing to the floor.
"What the hell.. hey you mind!" Shouted Gemme as she jumped out of the way.
"I didn't do it, i swear.." Sean said from the device, sitting on the worktable across the room.
"I didn't say it was you.. that thing must of learnt how to open portals.. great now it's trying to kill me.. this is just great." Gemme Said dusting herself off and kicking the bench bits out of her way.
"well.. i guess it doesn't like you Gem, which means it's Shadow for sure." Sean voice said again from the device.

Behind them the secound monitor screen flashed up with the words "Inbound signal, call sign, Red Commissar." as the button flashed to show she could reply.
"Great, your friend Red is calling, I wonder what he wants." Gemme said pressing the button which was flashing, not noticing the swirling black portal had disappeared again. "Yes, go Ahead Red."

An Impalpable Vengence: Morphing.

Slowly Shadow appeared out from the dark black portal it had used to escape from the group of Heroes at the Galaxy Girl statue moments before, it's mist form slowly took back on the form in had newly come by, it's humaniod form.
The black and mist of it's deamonic wings on it's back and the spikes of it's shoulders formed out, becoming more and more soild, slowly he looked up ahead, at the roof top vents nearby.
"I have power, I have form, I have the will." Shadow snarled from under the mask that had formed out of him.
"and i even have the power of fear.. they will soon know i can rule this world of light, the light walkers will fear me."
As he spoke, he rasied up is hand and focused in on the shadows of the vents, as he did they morphed and twisted as his will imprinted on them, pulling them over to him.
"And everything has a shadow, that I alone will command." He snarled as the shadows formed up into a pair of dark tentacles, which seems to bow to him.
"good, they already know their master." With those words he turned about and wlaked back towards the edge of the roof top, followed by the two tentacles.

Meanwhile, on the ASX49...

Geem studied the last readings she had got herself from a minor incounter with shadow, but they didn't show her much as she walked down the Hallway towards the room where Sean was.
As the door sid open to the room, a look of shock horror passed over her face, the room was in a comptele mess, and the main monitors were smashed to bits. Seans ruby device in which he was, was nowhere to be seen.
"Sean! What the hell has happend in here.. i thought it was a minor alarm!" She yeeled as Coms clam electronic voice sounded over the hallway speakers.
"Miss Grey, everything is fine, i have clean it up somewhat.... and yet to locate Seans pod."
"What! wait.. your telling me it's in this mess somewhere?" Gemme asked starting to dig her way into the room.
"Yes, but i have got a minor lock on the energy output of the device.. this on your left.. somewhere." COMS voice sounded again.
"Well.. you two might want to look under the create and to the left of the circuit borads.. sinces that's what i can see..just." Seans voice sounded out from the pile of now destoryed worktable and monitor bits.

"Sean.. Thank goodness your still there, right im going to try digging you out.. at least try to.. i think we need to move the ship and the equipment.. in case Shadow returns.."Gemme said moving a large screen which was badly spit in two from the pile.
Suddenly a faint beep comes from the pile, then seem to buzz and cut off.
"Oh.. damn, Gem.. he broke the communications linkup here.. at least i think thats the thing i can see blinking off and on." Sean's voice calls out.
"Great.. at least i have a spare in the other cargo hold.. and a few more on the way with the team i asked for." Gemme said as she lifts and throws to aside more of the pile.
"Miss Gemme, the Team are about to land at Paragon airfield, wish me to take the ASX49 to the airfield?" COMS voice comes from the speakers again.

"Please and tell them to be ready for clean up and turn on every damn light there is on this ship.. i want no more vists from Shadows thank you." Gemme Says as she continues to dig into the room's mess of piles.

An Impalpable Vengeance: Last Resort.

Slowly the Door opened to the Lab 2, where now Sean and the machine, along with the team of O'BrainTech Ind. Enginers were, Gemme stood in the door way, stareing in.
"Ah, Gem.. perfect timing, ok guys thats enough for now, go take a break.." Sean's voice called out from his device.
"Sure thing Mr O'Brain." most of the team said as they put down the tools and sheets they were holdingand left the room via the secound door.
"You wanted to speak to me Sean?" Gemme asked as she walked in, upto his device on the worktable.
"Yea.. it's about this whole Shadow thing, I know it's not exactly like what we were used to back in the days.." Sean said from the device, as the monitor screen behind his device slowly flickered on.
"Yea, well you make it sound like it was years and years ago that, it wasn't more than a few years." Gemme said looking down at the device, a small crack ran down it's outer shell, from the impact Shadow had done to it.
"Yea well still it feels like longer, anyway.. thats not why I asked for you to come back on board." Sean's voice called out.
"Oh? then what?" Gemme asked looking to the monitor screen quickly, before glancing back down to the device.
"Well Remember some time ago, the lab back at the main building, Lab 47a.." Sean said from the device.
"Yea.. the sealed lab, after the little mishap right?" Gemme asked looking to the monitor again, as it flicked up to the symbol of the O'Braintech symbol.

"Well Gem, the person who used that lab was Larry Burns, he was brillent with the whole area on light and laser technology, are main person for it at the time, but of course he wasn't perfect.. he kinda did some of his own projects there.. working mostly on the laser weapons." Seans voice said as Larry's picture file flicked onto the monitor.
"Yea, he was the one who disappeared in the lab mishap, the same one which cost you part of the upper right leg." Gemme said tapping her chin, as Sean once did as he thought of his great ideas.
"Yes, thats him.. the reason why i had to use the stick." Sean said before continuing on "Well this was one of his unfinished projects.. something i had asked him to make, in case something like this happend."
The Screen flickered up with an image of what looked like a bomb, or more like a warhead.
"Whats that?" Asked Gemme peering nearer at the screen.
"A Light nuke, to put it simple." Sean voice had changed somewhat, more serious like.
"Wait.. a light nuke.. but that what.." Gemme said, but Sean quickly cut her off.
"Yea, would kill me, well at least three would.. they would brighten up an area of appox ohh.. nine hundred feet square, for about five secounds at the same brightness of a solar flare, of course.. thats what they were meant to do, if everything still works with them." Sean said cutting off Gemme as the image changed to an almost live image of three such devices in what appeared to be the main cargo hold of the ASX49.

Gemme's face suddenly sunk, as a look of shock spread across it, She knew Sean wasn't lieing to her, these things were there, built ready, made for one perpose, to destory him, or someone like him.
"Sean.. but i thought we didn't make weapons!" Geeme said out of shock horror.
"We don't, normally, because of that mishap in the Lab 47a." Seans voice came from the device.
"Then why on earth have we got these!" Gemme said spinning around to look at the device.
"As a Last resort.. if my powers had done something which is like this, became uncontrolable.. self aware." Sean said, the device seems to shake a little with each word.
"Sean.. why didn't you tell me before now.. why hide this!?" Gemme asked picking up the device and looking to it's camera eye.
"Because I knew it would hurt you, and i never intended to use them." Sean said, with a sorrow filled voice.
"Then why have them built?" Asked Gemme still stareing into the Camare eye.
"As a last resort, they are possibly the alone thing that could stop Shadow truely." Sean said as the camera eye seem to blink.
"But i thought we needed it, to restore you?" Gemme said, her own voice now filled with the scareness that she had felt when first finding Sean in this shadow like state.
"Gem, i had COMS read out the scan results, Shadow and me aren't connected anymore, i feel stronger now, better than i have for a while." Seans voice called out, as a crack on the device's outer sheel seem to widen a little.

"But Sean, if that's true.. then why did you ask me to find it?" Gemme asked putting down the device and stareing at the Crack.
"Simple, i didn't know till i had the results, i feel purer.. if thats even possible, like some darkness in me has gone.. maybe that's was Shadow truely is.. nothing more than a darkness from within me.. something i was cursed with long ago.. with i have at last got rid of." Sean's voice said as a small bit of Light grey smoke like gas came out from the crack.
"Then this now is now nothing more than go and put an end to Shadow, with the Light nukes, and Red and Co. help." Gemme said standing up straight.
"Right, just remember.. take the granades and the goggles with you.. i would hate for anyone to end up blink or worst from these devices." Sean said as the said items appeared on the monitor screen, along with where they were onboard.
"Right, sure thing.. Watch out Shadow.. your time has come.. and intend on making you pay." Gemme said as she walked out of the room, with the door closing behind her.
On the Screen however displayed the ASX49 blueprints and the words "High energy solar storm beam lights" with little lines pointing at the extended arms from the Airships main hull.

An Impalpable Vegeance: United we stand. (part 1)

The room quickly filled with the light of the transpoter beam, on to the bed appeared Gemme, her clothes covered in her own blood, her wounds healed somewhat by the heroes at the statue. Around her was the O'BrainTech team, many of which had taken first aid and medical trainning for just such an event. Busily they worked away, bandaging and wraping her remainning wounds, minor compared to those that the people, the heroes, who had rushed to her aid.

"Miss Gemme, appears stable now Sean." Coms Voice sounded over the internal speakers.
"Good, great COMS, now tell me how the hell we lost the track lock on her?" Seans Voice came from his Machine pod.
"Well, sir.. the energy wave caused by the mass portaling of the rikti forces overloaded the local area with radiation, I was unable to to maintain the lock through it." COMS voice sounded again this time however only in the two rooms where Sean and Gemme were.
"Fine.. well we better get that upgraded aswell then.. gee they make more work for us.. each and everytime." Sean said before a low sigh from Coms electronic voice.

Slowly Gemme's eyes flickered and moved, as she went to left her right arm.
"You two mind keeping it down.. gee wiz i got a hell of a headache now." Gemme mumbled as she awoke.
"Miss Gemme, we I ermm.. Glad to see your awake now." Coms voice sounded again, much more quiet than before.
"Yea.. thank my lucky stars.. didn't know they could hit that damn hard.. and.. ow.. blades." Gemme said wincing as she pulled herself up in the bed.
"Gem.. you know you really should have a rest.. and try not to move.. give the team sometime to heal you." Sean's voice rang out over her Rooms speaker.
"..ow..Yea.. well you know me Sean.. never say never and all.. you could at least of warned me a little better Coms.. that was a two secounds warnings per blow... im not that fast you know." Gemme said rubbing her head then reaching over for the glass of water sitting next to her on the bed table.
"Miss Gemme, i can warn you only as fast as i can comput the data.." COMS Voice called out again.
"Yea.. for a super computer you sure are slow on the computting these days.. i think i need to get some of your other actives out of you again." Gemme said putting the glass back onto the table and leaning her head back against the wall.
"Gem.. maybe you should sit out the Shadow battle.. and heal up more.. you won't be much help if your wounded now will you." Seans voice said before cutting off.
"Yea.. like im going to do that Sean.. nice try.. Shadow as this coming." Gemme spoke as she lifted her hand off the cut off button for the internal communications speakers.

(( I would like to thank all those who came yesterday(23rd of April 08) for the Shadow battle showdown. I hope everyone enjoyed it and I spent most of the evening at it attempting to keep up with so many attack emotes at once, so sorry if I missed out anyone at some points, but as you may guess it's not easy to type and think and reply to about six or so people attacking me at once.

Also, I am still at this moment writing up the last two bit of the IC story which ends this plotline, So just wait a little longer to see the final chapter of this one tale.. and maybe the start of a new one ))

An Impalpable Veneance: United We stand. (part 2)

Slowly the med center machine scanned over Gemme, checking the wounds were healing, helping them along more as it did.
"Miss G Greys, im happy to tell you the wound are almost fully healed up, and there is no sign of any remainning marks or scars." Said the doctor as he walked over to the medi machine control panel.
"Excellent, does that mean no more darn band aids on me?" Gemme Asked stepping out from the machine.
"Yes, Of course you may wish to get yourself some more protective outfit next time, Rikti aren't the most easy on bare skin." He said coming over to her and taking off the bandages.
"Yeah, well I guess my boss never thought to spend out of protective outfits for me sincethey didn't use to hurt him." Gemme smirked as she rotated her left arm before rubbing down where the bandages had come off from.
"Well, Isn't he the great Sean O'brain, founder of O'braintech Industries?" The Doctor asked looking at Gemme.
"Oh Yes, but he kinda did know i was heading into this side of the job, it's a long story.." Gemme said flicking her hair up and tieing it back into her normal ponytail.
"Well, not my place to complain, but please try to look after yourself better, it's hard enough to heal heroes without them not helping themselves." The doctor said walking away.
"Sure thing Doc, O'BrainTech will settle the bill if you send them it." Gemme said doing a mock salute and a wink before walking off.

OnBoard the ASX49

The light from the teleporter died down again as Gemme stepped off the pad. Glancing about at the minor damage to the room from the Shadow battle, a few of the wall panels were missing, the bare wires and circuit boards behind clearly in sight.
"Gee, repairs are still taking their time I see." Gemme muttered as she walked out of the room, alomng the hallway towards where Lab 2a was, the room which had Sean's pod.
Along the way yet more wall panels and celling panels were missing, wires hung down from them, sparks every so often sprayed out as one of the team members tried to fixed it. The Place was a mess, Shadow had done his damage and more even with the repais they knew it would never be like before, after all they had only just done a fully rebuild on it a few months before the battle, and now the ASx49 was on soild ground again, hidden on the outskits of Paragon, it's remainning power was being used to keep it from falling apart, and to keep the computers running while they repaired it as best they could for a trip back to England.
"COMs, Status report on repairs please." Gemme shouted as she entered the Lab 2a door, it self almost falling from it's sliding rails.
"Miss Gemme, Repair status is still slowly, most systems are running but flight mode and stealth are still offline, tranporters are only wokring at half normal range, scanners are working at 200 yards range." Coms voice rang out from the rooms speakers.
"So we adding another 50 ards to the scanner range.. hmm.. I guess thats better than being blind." Gemme muttered as she walked over to Sean's Pod.
"Hey Gem, im still here, and well.. nothing new.. guess repairs are taking up time instead of the machine work." Seans Voice came from the Pod.
"Yea, but at least we were almost there, just that cube to solve now.. which i still don't understand why we have to solve it." gemm said looking into the small window of the pod, but due to the light not working, unable to see anything inside.
"Terry made it, was part of the machine.. has to be important.. like a puzzle key, it's on switch." Sean said as teh cube was barely lit up by the worktable light.
"True but still i wonder how.. we have tried almost everything we can think of... and nothing." gemme said peering at the cube.
"Maybe the guys and gals at the statue can help us, it's not like it's going to be a trap or anything." Sean said as the field around the cube lowered down enough for Gemme to grab hold of it.
"Right ask Red.. or maybe erm.. oh I'll ask around.. someone must have the answer for it." Gemme said tucking the cube under her arm.

"COMS. power up the transporter, Im heading back into Paragon, see if i can find someone to help me with this cube."

An Impalpable Vengeance: A Puzzling Key.

Gemme paced up and down, as on the worktable next to her sat the now multi-coloured puzzle cube left by Terry, the final piece of the puzzle that was his machine. She couldn't understand how he had made such a device, let alone been able himself to solve it, after all it had taken the combine speed of one of the local heroes of Paragon city, his unwillness to stop to solve the secound level of the cube.
"Terry, what is this damn cube.. it doesn't make sense, you would never of been able to solve it." Gemme Muttered as she paced.
The screen behind the table seem to flash up with the complex coding of the what the colours mean, she glanced to it and sighed.
"Right.. that means about as much as rikti battle plans to me, Coms, care to make it something I can understand?" Gemme said has the coding lines changed into the format of the cube.
"There Miss Gemme, that is as simple as I can make it, of course it still doesn't make logical sense to me, considering Proffesser Oxley, wasn't known for this work." Coms voice called out from the speakers.
"I know, still he has to of done this for a reason.." Gemme said before Seans voice cut over the speakers.
"Gem, remember what Terry said, the most common answer isn't the right one. Thats the clue to solving it."
Gemme plaused for a moment then slammed her hands out and stared at the puzzle cube. It's sides each coloured different, one side Red, another Blue then Green was one, the last were Grey, Yellow, and Black.
"Gah, why couldn't he of been more simple.. how on earth are we meant to solve something that doesn't have a common answer!" Gemme angery said turning away from the cube.
"Gem, your face has gone bright red, just like the fire in your eyes." Sean's voice said as she stared at his pod, "What im just saying."
"Firey Red am I huh? I'll show you firey re.. wait.. red.. fire.." Gemme shouted before a look of shock crossed her face.
"Miss Gemme, fire is red yes, does that mean the colour cube is meaning the colours match to a common element use of the colour they normally are?" Coms Voice cut over the Speakers as Gemme span around to look at the cube again.

"I think your right.. Red is Fire, Blue is.. Water, Green must be Earth, Grey is.. air?" Gemme looked over the cube has she spoke, counting off the colours as she said them.
"So thats means Yellow is light, and Black is darkness, or shadow.. which would make sense i guess, something i would of tried at one point." Sean's voice said.
"Right, so the Cube is couloured with the elements.. well thats makes it easyer.. I guess.. now I just got to hit each one with the element of it's colour and boom, puzzle solved at last." Gemme said picking up the cube and slipping it into a backpack, before stepping towards the door of the room.
"Well, if that doesn't work.. just give us a call yea?" Sean's voice said as she left the room, with a quick glancing wave from her free hand.

An Impalpable Vengeance: A Solution's Cure. (part one.)

On board the ASX49.

Slowly the airlock doors shut behind Gemme, her feet had a nice covering of mud from the fields they were landed in, at the outskits of the city. Gemme looked down at her now mud covered boots, and with a quick shake of her feet managed to know and spatter some of it off her boots, and onto the nearby walls.
"Oppies, humbugs.. Coms I got yet more mud outside the Airlock again, tell me we can shortly get to somewhere a little less muddy." Gemme called out as she started down the hallway towards the door at it's end.
"Miss Gemme, do not worry, the walls there have the anti stick solution cover on the lower wall parts." Coms voice rang out down the hallway following Gemme as she walked to the Lab 2a.
"Also the fuel cells given by the Hero codenamed Golden Vespa will be fitted shortly in, they will give us enough power to gain flight and get to the dock area here in the city." Coms Voice said as Gemme entered the door.
"Dock area.. here? OH! it's ready.. Excellent!" Gemme glance about before spotting the finished Cube delivery device.
"Indeed it is Gem, thanks to a little help from the team and the scrap bits from repairs." Sean's voice sounded from the pod.
The device itself looked like a meduim sized cross shape in 3D, each arm had a dfferent element in it, held away from the cube by a small panel of metal, blocking it from making contact with the cube till such time as it was needed.

"Coms, Are we ready?" Asked Gemme peering into the device then glancing to the monitor screen beside it.
"Ready, Delivery system is standing by, all Elements are ready to be dropped on, at the exact same time frame." Coms voice called as it's wire frame head appeared on the monitor screen.
"Right, Let's do it.. active the system and cross your fingers." Gemme Said looking at the device quickly.
"Of Course Miss Gemme, activing now." Coms voice said as the device suddenly started up fully.
Suddenly the metal panel door slid open at once, allowing the different elements to hit their sides, The cube seem to vibrate and shift, each panel of it glowed briefly before the small parts that made up it's surface started to move and reconfigure. Out from the cube's bottom dropped three items, A clear Crystal, a key with a tab tied onto it, and lastly a vial of slowly changing colour.
The cube itself changed completely in shape, become a sort of 3D stick with points spreading out from both ends pointing downwards. Gemme blinked then spotted the bits on the floor.
"What on Earth.. Coms.. can you move the device out the way.. theres something under it now.. looked like they dropped out from it." Gemme said reaching for the three items.
"Gem.. What is it? I can't see remember." Sean's voice called out from the pod.
"Sean.. there's a crystal.. kinda clear like and.. strange looking, and theres a key.. with a note on it, and this vail of well.. something." Gemme Said wipping each item over with her hand as she said them.
"Right.. what about the cube?" Sean called out again.
"Thats.. well different.. looks like.. the slot on the machine." Gemme said leaning back up and stareing at it.
"Right.. Coms.. how long till we can start up the machine?" Sean's voice called out again.
"Ten hours, appox.. given the time to install the fuel cells and arrive at the dock area." Coms voice rang out, somewhat more happy than before.

"Right.. Gem.. I would get some rest.. Coms.. scan the bits and inform me of what they truely are.. and get us ready for full power to the machine." Sean called out, taking contorl and ordering as he once did.
"But.. I.. Fine," Gemme said before turning about on the spot holding the key out so she could read it.
It's tag merely said Solution's Cure. Which she place along with the other items on the work table next to the delivery device.
"I'll get some sleep.. I mean it's not like I can walk all the way back to town now.. it's far too late.. and I could do with a bath." Gemme Said before leaving the room.

An Impalpable Vengeance: A Solution's Cure. (part 2)

Stood there blasting the air with their Machine gun fire and Rockets were a group of four Freakshow guys, three were normal lackeys, the last was a Freak Slammer Tank all of them laughed as they shoot up at the low flying ASX49, it's hull dented in by the impacts and shoots, minor damaged but still Gemme was running along side it, under it clearing a route, a path through the city to the other side, as the Shields and cloak of the ship were not working due to the damaged done by Shadow, now it was just one big target hovering slowly across the city towards Independent Port, where Sean had months earlier set up a dock post for it, in case anything like this had happened.

The Tank laughed more as he sent off yet another set of rockets up at the ASX49, making it rock as they impacted onto the hull. Suddenly he felt a tap on his metal shoulder, turning about to see who it was he was only met by the impact of a boot to his chest plate, which sent him flying backwards across the road and slamming into a car park opposite the group of them. The other freakshow turned about to see why their pal had suddenly taken his very short trip across the road, to be face with Gemme still in her fighting stance from the high kick she had done.
"Hey you mind! Now scram unless you want to end up like your pal there." Shouted Gemme, lowering her leg down and starring at them.
"Hey it's a girl scout! Get her!" Shouted the Freakshow Slammer as his pointed at Gemme, only to be met by yet another high kick to his chest, sending him flying backwards from the group.

"I’m warning you, Scram! Or tell me which hospital you’re going to and I'll meet you there and sign the casts." Gemme Said with a smirk and gilt in her eye.
The last two of the group looked to each other then two the others now laying out cold on the ground behind them, a look of shock horror crossed their faces before they ran for their lives.
"Oh... a shame... I was all warmed up and everything, guess I'll wait till next time for it." Gemme said walking off after the ASX49 as it had hovered off in the time she had taken kicking the freakshow butts.
The two which were out cold were transported away by the city's grid system, their one-way ticket to the Zig.

After a short time they had made it to the Warehouse were the Dock base was, The ASX49 hovered above it as the roof of the building opened up allowing it to land safely inside, out of view from the outside. Once it had landed the roof closed again and the doors unlocked allowing Gemme to quickly slip inside.
Inside was different to the outside of the building, replaced was normal entrance and walls now there was a metal staircase leaning down, the walls matched that of the inside of ASX49 the high tech lab like coverings and lights, Gemme looked about in amazement she had no idea Sean had built such a place here and then to forget it was there was impossible to think of.
"How on earth could he have forgotten he had this here... it's... just... just... wow." Gemme said walking down the steps then noticing the Ship landed on the floor below her.

Slowly the Team rolled out the Machine and the pod from the hanger door of the ship, the lab was connected to the doors to allow such things built in them of be taken out once they were ready.
"Miss Gemme, Uplink to site Mainframe complete, power cables and clamps connected to the ASX49 in one moment." Coms voice called out from the speakers around the dock area.
"Thanks Coms, let's hope Sean has left some supplies here to that he's forgot about as well, and got the sites core fully powered... otherwise that won't do much." Gemme shouted out as she walked over the pod then with the team as they rolled the two devices off towards a door at the far side of the room

An Impalpable Vengeance: A Solution's Cure. (part 3)

Inside the room was enough cables and monitors to make the labs onboard the ASX49 look out dated, the worktables in the room's far side were state of the art, the exact same as back at the H.Q, the stage just of the AsX49 ones but clean, new, brand new. As was the rest of the whole room, everything was brand new, and ready for use.
"Right let's get this thing fixed up and powered up." Said Gemme looking about the room quickly.
"Indeed.. and careful.. remember Im still in here people." Sean called out from the pod has it was quite roughly popped down onto the floor.
"Ah, Sorry Mr O'Brain, we're get the machine hooked up and transfer you over to it in one moment or so." Said the team leader, his face looked embarressed by the fact he had almost dropped his boss on the floor.
"Right, Gemme.. if im remembering right.. I installed well had installed a feed system in the roof of her, it should connect from the pod to the machine.. but it may need some small adjustments." Sean called out.

"Right.. is that the switch labled, transfer system.. or the one labled saved me?" Gemme said with a grin on her face.
"Oh ha ha, Gem.. very funny.. can we just get this over and done with.. im fed up of being a gas now." Sean called out as the pod was moved into position.
The Machine itself was already where it had to be as Gemme hit the switch, down from the celling came the tubes for the transfer system, and with a few clicks and hits they connected onto the pod and The Machine.
"Right Gemme, Team.. for this to work we are going to have to work together completely." Sean said from the pod, as they gathered about it, "So heres the plan, Coms.. We are going to have to Borrow quite a large amount of power from the Terra Volt reators that power the city.. they might get some minor powercuts in some parts of the city."
"Of Course, Sean.. the gird and power relays are being re alined now." Coms Voice called out from the nearby monitor station.
"Right.. Gemme, I need you to switch controls on the far panel to auto, and relay the power to the machine from the grid.. hopefully the relays themselves should hold up long enough for it to work." Sean Said as Gemme walked over to the said control panel.
"Right got you." Gemme said with a stiff nod.
"Team.. I need you to go and make sure the cableing for the ASX49 recharge system are not connected up, and begin suppling us up for a return trip to England, once the repairs are fully complete." Sean said as the Team members nodded each and walked out of the room.
"Coms.. Can you transfer me over now and begin the charging of the machine.. lets get this thing over with." Sean said as Coms wire frame head appeared on the screen of the monitor station.
"At once, Stand by, system on.. Powering transfer and machine, cycle began." Coms said as the count down and blowers started up.
"Sean.. Good luck.. and.. " Gemme said looking at the pod, then nodding as she knew what Sean would say.

Slowly the room filled with a buzzing sound as the Tranfer system started up, sucking Sean into the machine's main area, once he was inside the tube disconnected itself from the machine as it powered up. Gemme could see from the display of the Machine that the power levels were slowly gainning up, each bar hit the top of the display before the next would start to go up. Coms Robotic arm for that room came down next tot he work table and grab the key that once was the puzzle cube, and slipped it into the slot next to the machine's door.
It clicked in and the machine seem to almost hum and buzz even more, suddenly a small buzzer sounded.
"Sean, the power relay system is beginning to overload.. should we charge the machine now to fully power or continue at this slow increase?" Coms voice called out, just barely heard over the buzzing.
"Go Full charge now!" Shout seans voice from the machine.
As he did the room began to shake as the machine got the power it needed, it's whole shell stoke and hummed with the current passing into it. Then all of a sudden it seem to boomed like a sonic jet as a bright flash of light came out from it, followed by the smoke and sparks.

"Sean...SEAN!" Shouted Gemme once she was able to see the smoke coming from the machine.
There was a deadly stillness from the machine as the last of the sparks seem to stop. then the door slid open and yet more soke poured out.
"Sean!.. NOO!" Shouted Gemme as she ran over to the door looking hopelessly at the smoke, waiting to her his voice from it.
Suddenly a hand reached out from into the smokey machine and waved as a voice called out "Gee Gem, must you always worry like that, and also.. I could do with a pants here!"
It was Sean, his voice sounded as it once did and he skin was back to it's normal human skin tone. Gemme looked to the machine before blushing and looking away.
"Oh Come now Gemme, like you haven't wanted to see me like that before.. now Clothing please!" Sean said before laughing at himself.
All Gemme did was nodded then threw a towel into the machine for him, before walking off still blushing bright red.
"Sean.. it's.. well.. good to have you back.. in one piece." Gemme said before bursting into a fit of giggles and leaving the room.
Sean popped his head out and looked about, "Gee.. I guess even I should know when not to do the unexpected."
Sean smiled to himself as Coms robotic arm came to him holding out one of his many suits.

An Impalpable Vengeance: Echoes from the past.

Sean stopped outside the warehouse base, slowly he went to push on the door, but to his suprize it was locked.
"GEM! COMS! oh for crying out loud.. you can't just lock me out of my own damn place now!" He shouted kocking on the doors.
The only answer he got was the beep of the alarm rearming, slowly he sat down on the floor leaning on the door with his back, his suit jacket now used to cover him like a blanket.
"Sorry Sean, Miss Gemme has ordered me not to let you in till the morning.." Coms all to familar voice sounded from a small speaker on the doorframe.
"Thats ok Coms, I guess the fact I shouted at her and such does indeed mean I have to sleep outside." Sean said leaning his head back onto the door.
"Well, I did activate the sheilding system of the ASX49, so noone should be able to get near you for the night." Coms voice sounded again.
"Phew, well.. thats good to know, Night Coms." Sean said as he closed his eyes, the only answer he got was the speaker turning itself off.

Slowly Sean went of to sleep, something he had not had for sometime, and even this first night of sleep wasn't going to be much.
Suddenly he found himself stareing into a void like area, nothingness.. no sounds other than his own breathing, and a voice.

"Sean... I see.. you.."
"Huh? who are.. wait.. I know that voi.."
"yes.. it is me, Shadow.."
"but your gone, killed from the light nukes.. surely?"
"noo.. merely fragmented, I shall return.. and when I do.. you will be the first to fall into the void."
"Shadow.. Im no scared of you anymore.. nor do I have the power to control the shadows around me."
" I know.. I made it so.. now only I have the full power and you.. you have nothing.. a mere man.."
"Shadow, I have more than you ever will.. and even still, you'll never win."
" I don't have to, Im just the messager.. the true Dark Master is coming.. he shall be more than this world can handle."

Sean went to speak but found himself falling down into the darkness, then suddenly waking up and finding himself back outside the Warehouse base.

An Impalpable Vengeance: Gone but not forgotten.

Wednesday late evening, Paragon city.

Slowly Sean walked along with his laptop under his arm, his suit was ever so slightly wet from a young hero that passed him, and used her ice powers on the group of hellions he was walking passed, by pure mistake her blast had hit his side and frozen a small patch of his suit which had now melted away.
The street he was walking down was oddly quiet, even for the time of day, there wasn't even the sign of the local gangs about, nor anyone else for that matter.

Suddenly a van flew around the corner ahead of him, and sceeched to a halt a few meters ahead of him. Out from the van sprang a group of Arachnos soilders, with their maces ready.
"Get him!" was the only words they shouted as they ran towards him.
"What the hell.. oh feck.. run Sean.. Run!" Sean shouted as he took off as fast as he could down the street, he was only a few streets away from the warehouse base in Independent Port.
The Soilders continued to run after him, even with their armour on, each was fast enough to keep up with the speed of Sean.
"Great where the hell did they pop from.. I thought Arachnos couldn't get into the city.." Sean muttered to himself as he ran.
Suddenly the Van reappeared infront of him, trying in a vain attempt to block his way but instead of trying to run pass it Sean ducked down an alleyway beside him and continued onward.
"The Boss wants that guy, don't give up.. he's trapped at the end.. only a sewer door there." One of the soilders said as he others followed him down the alleyway.
They were right, at the end was only a Sewer enterance, and Sean had only one choice, go in. Lucky for him someone had busted the lock off and the grate mostly, so he just slipped into the sewer and continued a short way before ducking into a dark corner.
"Find him, he can be far.. he's just a normal person." A voice said from the sewer grate.

"what on earth, why the hell do they want me? and what for..? this just doesn't make sense." Sean thought to himself as he stayed hidden.
As the group passed him he quickly opened the laptop and tapped in "Send the spider song to Gemme Greys email account" before closeing it down as he tap oher button, which in turn actived his headset and earpiece.
"There he is!" Shouted the voice, As four arms grabbed hold of him and pulled him from the corner.
"Hey.. erm.. guys.. hello.. and wh.." Sean nervously said before he was hit by a mace, knocking him out cold.

Sometime later

Sean slowly woke up, his dazzed look and barely open eyes flicked in th epoor light of the room. To his side was the laptop and his headset, infront of him stood the soilders.
"Well, well.. if this isn't the millionaire Sean O'brain, in the flesh.. good work boys, get the flyer ready." A Voice called out from the shadows of the room.
"Huh.. erm..oww.. now.. that hurts." Sean muttered as the soilders seem to turn and walk off.
"So, now.. we really should thank you, with the information you have so kindly given to us, in the form of that laptop.. our leader should have the plans for those nice power cores of yours, and with out spending a dime to get them." The voice chuckled.
"err.. ha.. ha.. your not quite as smart as you sound, since all that data is incoded and only I know the passwords." Sean said as he smirked.
"A small problem.. but easy to over come, now, tell me.. you got anything to say before we take the trash out?" The Voice asked, sounding even more evil than it did before.
"Yea, SEND your own CODE to COMS, maybe then you might get the HARMONIC in this room sorted to RATIO of a nice THREE POINT and a half TWO, but even then ROTATING it BY your own ego might be FIVE to high for you and even then SCANNING might be a little hard for this GROUND to which LEVEL where we are UNDER." Sean said ever so often shouting the odd word at where the voice was coming from.
"Hmm.. is that all.. I mean I don't think the dead can hear you." the Voice said as it seem to fade away into the darkness.
"No, but they are smart enough to know my meaning." Sean smirked as a soilder grabbed the laptop and taking it into the dark of the room, along with the headset.

Before long Sean was alone, only the sound of running water and his own singing rang out into the darken sewer caves where he was.
