Fire/Ice - Doable or meh...

Hi guys.

Was building in Mids yesterday. I was playing around with different chars like the altoholic I am. I came up with this spec that in theory would allow me to use burn with icepatch to keep foes in there long enough for them to get hurt plenty? Anyone with experience of this combo?

adding my mids plan below. main thing is, burn and icepatch. ignore the other shait.

Ignoring the rest then Icepatch could be end slotted and burn could recharge faster. Its been a FotM and so there are literally thousands of them possibly in semi retirement though.

Hi,

I found Fire/Ice very doable and great fun; while leveling I was often amazed out how well it performs. It starts out a bit slow as do most alts but once you get the IP/burn combo you can tear through mobs - through the twenties I could take on mobs that my other tanks and scrappers wouldn't dream of.

The only downside to it that I found was that you are more susceptible to bad teams - your main damage mitigation apart from your shields is Ice patch - controllers tend to drop cages with -KD and others push mobs off of the IP/burn reducing your effectiveness.
Also Fire/Ice is great at AoE damage (IP/burn)- chew through minions and lts but due to a lack of ST damage are poor against bosses.
In regards to your build:
I would get boxing instead of kick - don't want the KB
Get Hasten earlier - a fire tanker lives and dies on recharge - you need HF and IP up as much as possible for survivability. FE and burn also on a recharge - the more they're up the more damage you do.
All in all a fun combo - easily the most survivable Fire tank and with decent damage.
