The Bombings are part of the rikti invaision which was introduced in i10 they will occur whenever a team has completed a rikti task force in the rikti war zone, the zones invaisions occur in random zones and last for aprox 10 -15 mins i believe.
Not sure about the free respec but the rewards for being on so long are the new vetran rewards brought forward with i9 every 3 months you will get a new vet reward badge (only applies for ACTIVE time ie every 3 months a active account will get a vet reward) along with the badge players will get a set reward ie free tailor session, free respec, prstige sprints, costume pieces ect.

The original onslaught has stopped as Kashi describes can now be triggered through completion of the Lady Grey task Force (introduced along with other Issue10 content).
The respec you have clearly earned with the release of Issue 9 or 10 since you've been gone.

Oook, First of all. Its great to be back in game. After i left due to WoW (Friends playing it), i got them all to come to CoV/H and we are having fun.
Since ive played though, a lot has happened. Back at the start of Issue 8 O_O, that long.
What exactly is with the bombings now? how come i got a free respec >.> and whats with the reward for being playing so long?
