Fears over a new Axis Super-Weapon were silenced this morning when it was revealed in the early hours that the cause of recent electrical storms was a Meta-Human. Witnesses on the Talos Island boardwalk described a man on the shorefront emitting what was described as a 'Lightning Aura', arcing high into the evening's sky.
When one of the Cities Homefront Heroes arrived on the scene to investigate, the mysterious figure apparently dissapeared in a flash of light, instantly putting an end to the massive thunderstorms across the City. Some of the cities Military Analysts raises minor fears that the continual, localised stormfront was the work of Hitlers Axis Scientist, the dissapearance of the storms and their source lays this theory to rest for now. Nevertheless our ever vigilant Home Guard say they're still on alert, and now know what their dealing with should the 'Thunder Fiend' return.

"Well, folks it looks like we've got a rough night in store across the City."
The Weatherman points to the screen behind him which transposes to a picture of the East Coast, black clouds are unnaturally focused around Paragon City.
"Technology Heroes with a weakness to the electromagnetic effects of thunderstorms will want to hang up their capes tonight, it's really going to be something of a 'shocker' out there folks.
The Weatherman takes a serious tone as he looks back to his map.
"It looks like mother nature's saved it all up for us--"
The image flicks off before the Weatherman can finish his sentence. The boom of a thunderbolt too close for comfort startles a concerned citizen in his pitch black room in an apartment in Talos Island. Stumbling over debris on his bedroom floor in the sudden pitch darkness, he makes his way to his ocean view window to get a better look at the ominous storm clouds over head.
Talos Island is silenced under a blanket Blackout... only the corporate buildings, mono-rail and street-lights remain lit with power, as a second huge bolt of dazzling white-light hits the beach the man in the window ducks down for safety.

By this time the beach of Talos Island was, in places, Red Hot from constant strikes of thunder, the sand crystalising into shards of brilliant natural glass after a heavy barrage.
In the centre of the beach a lonely figure crouches beneath the storm. Around him an aura of heat-haze ascends into the bitterly cold and windy night. As he gradually rises to his feet, the storm seems to settle and calm... Silhouetted from the mainland against the turbulant seas, the figure glances to his left and then to his right.
In synchronisation with the on set of rain, the figure glances towards the Talos Island's impressive skyline, his body sizzles as the rain hits super-heated flesh and metal, but only the islands glorious skyscrapers standing proud against the muddy blue sky can hold the man's attention.
His eyes bear a subtle naivity, a child-like wonder fills them as his eyelids flicker to keep out the rain. A gentle warming smile forms on his lips.
Lowering his gaze, he looks towards the edge of the beach as he makes his way inland to the sound of crunching glass beneath his feet...
