No, it's certainly not a bad choice, although you may well find you want to try out a few different combination until you find one that feels right to you.
There are a few threads about the Sonic sets, including this one, in which both the Sonic primary and secondary were discussed. You might get some ideas from there. There are a number of powers in the Sonic secondary that you can only use on other players, meaning you may find if you want to solo a lot, a different secondary may be best, or you might just want to skip those powers.
hey folks, i'm a newbie to the game and of course in my haste to start playing i just picked power sets that would match the Super villain i had in my head! is sonic/sonic a bad combination?
