Well, after taking a very long break from CoX, and an even longer break from redside, I decided to revisit my elec/elec brute.

I was less than thrilled with how he performed. Especially when I entered the AE.

Having a lot of experience with tanks, and having had to figure out how to make them into the beasts they were back in the day, I decided to try to do the same with my brute. The following is the build I came up with, and slotted this way, with just SOs, I have noticed a big difference.

Some things of note, I took the KB IO to shore up the annoying feature of grounded, seeing how I was sick of getting knocked on my tail every time i used LR.

I did not take Aid Self. My experiences with AS are horrible, it burns way too much end, and gets interrupted more often than not. Nothing like burning all my end trying to get off a crappy heal, better off just carrying greens.

Soul Mastery, and specifically Darkest Night are awesome. The less I get hit, the longer I live.

You will see that with this build, I will be almost softcapped on s/l defense with over 58% resistance to s/l damage. Not too shabby.

Couple of short comments:

-Why oh why is armageddon in Lightning Field?! Ick.
-I would like to see more recharge in buildup. 6% regen isn't worth it.
-I see why you picked the debuff sets for your attacks, but I like damage. I see you picked a sleep set for Jacob's. It's too awesome of an attack to waste the potential damage!
-I'd actually drop the miracle unique out of health. You have powersink to deal with your endurance.

Brutes can be tough, but I fear in your quest for defense you've forgot about offense.

Yeah, just realized I messed up with lightning field, and the miracle in health may be a bit of overkill. Been thinking about switching up Jacob's Ladder.

My build before I mucked about with this one was so squishy I definitely went a bit overkill on the defense. And darkest night definitely gives me some breathing room, gonna retool and repost later/.

To counter the Aid Self interrupt problem, you should slot an Interrupt duration IO. With Weave and a handful of defense bonuses, chances are you'll get Aid Self off in one shot. But personally I agree, Aid Self is not so great for a resistance-based toon.

I question some of your slotting in several areas. Four slots in Grounded? A sleep set in a strong attack? A single Zephyr in Super Jump? I can see why you slotted Siphon Insight in Gloom but wouldn't a damage set be better, overall? Only 3 Slots in Power Sink?

I assume with this build you don't really malefactor. I tried to follow the idea that you wanted Defense, some Regen and more HP. Overall this slotting is more efficient, and I think would serve you better than what you have above.
