I haven't been at all, and I've been using them a lot lately for storage/respecing/cleaning out old ios. You may want to send a dxdiag to customer support along with a bug report, maybe they can help you. Make sure your graphic drivers are updated, etc.
and if coh starts acting wonky, I clean out my screenshots and reverify (no clue if this does anything) but it makes me feel like I'm at least doing something

I haven't been having a problem either.
In fact, late last week I spent pretty much an entire evening sorting and taking inventory of IOs in my Enhancement Tables, moving about 350 IOs between tables. Eventually a memory leak (pesky bug) acted up - but that was at the end of a two hour session in-base.

Check the permissions for the storage container. Are you at a rank that allows putting and pulling from the bin?
Also check the base item count, stored items are part of what causes the base crashes when the high base item count is reached. Last word 15k items is the magicish number.
If your are near that number your storage items might be putting you over the top. just an idea
