Burn with quicksand? Viable? fire/fire/earth build
I have a Fire/Stone/Earth toon.. I can spam quicksand 3 times (it has short recharge time) but the duration is pretty long in that time you can spam Burn 2-3 times. IT does slow them and Stalagmites (which as the same damage and range aoe of Fireball WITH chance to stun).
Earth Mastery meshes REALLY well with fire aura.

Thanks; I hadn't picked up on the immob in both sets. You are right, Earth looks like good synergy.
Any thoughts on whether the ST hold in the set, Fossilize, is worth it on a team tank build? I'd have to give up either Incinerate or GFS to take it, obviously it would be helpful against certain problem mobs like Sappers and Tsoo Sorcs and the Basilisk Hold set is very nice, but I also find myself wondering if I'm going to be taking the time to do ST holds on a team.
And something I found on my rad defender is that exemplared down to lower levels where you'd really like to have that control because you can't destroy everything instantly, you don't have access to your epic powers anyway.

If there is a hold power take it, it will stack with the trollers holds too. When fighting AVs this comes in handy. From lvl 41-49 I would take the hold, immobilize, quicksand, & stalagmites. Everything else try to have before 41. A lot of AVs do not have immobilize protection, the holds help with ideas like you mentioned above. Also you risk not having holds if say you team make up doesn't have any. Also if you plan to pvp having at least one mez is needed. But in pvE having a hold can make your job easier. Nothing worse than jumpinginto a mob of malta and the troller yells AFK and you get sapped to death cause you don't see it.

I just spec'd over to this today on my Fire/EM tank and it works quite well.
The Quicksand (slotted with 2 Slow IOs) keeps most of the mobs in the burn patch for just about the whole duration.
