Non-Combat pets and inter-zone persistance

Is there any way we can have our non-combat pets (mini-mekman, impish demon, etc...) be granted the ability to remain summoned while zoning?

I really, really like those pets, but I never cast them, and the simple reason is that it's not worth it because I know I'm just gonna have to cast it again when I zone in a couple minutes. Is there any way we can have them become permanent when cast, with the ability to dismiss them? I think you'd find thawt many more people would enjoy, appreciate and use them if they weren't such a pain in the butt to maintain.
