You will do fine. This is why tough is worthless. Just go with tactics and hibernate and Amplify+Melt Armor+Heat Exhaustion then your attack chain.
The SS/SJ combo is useful to kite the scrappers and tanks to stay out of melee range to give you more time to get off your attack chain. But its more about staying alive while HE does its job.

No not FA...... really man. Trust me. Try it out. And give it more than one or two chances. People do well with sonic/therms. And leviathan is for the more solo play. And Soul would be more for teams.
